Sven's never had more than 35 points in a season, and at 3.6M - that's no good. Goldy was close to that!

Goldobin has proven beyond a reasonable doubt that he is not an NHL player. Nice kid and hopefully he makes some cash in the KHL.

Biega is Biega. The way his contract is structured, I doubt there's any chance he gets taken, but he is a RHD and those are in short supply, so....

Don't agree with the Baertschi move. You simply tell Gaudette he's done great but you want him to continue his development by playing a lot in all situations in the AHL. Let him know you expect to have him back up as soon as the usual injuries hit. Then when he does come up there's someone for him to play with other than the likes of Sutter, Schaller, Motte and Ericksson.

So much for asset management.

I don’t care that he’s on waivers. I never wanted to re-sign him. I never wanted to trade for him. I’m a bit surprised he got Gagnered, out of all the guys on the team, given what he had to go through this off season, but I’m good with moving forward without him.

Now we just need to drop the rest of the plugs you slurpers are so fond of.

I was on team positive this year but don’t tell me you’re not annoyed by LE making the team over Sven.


LE isn’t even that good on that P.K. how often have you said to yourself “nice play Loui” when he’s on the P.K.? I’d rather just roll with Sutter, Beagle, Virtanen, and Pearson on the PK and keep Sven over LE since he’s way better at 5v5 and on the PP.

There's no meritocracy in comparing AGs camp to SB - he outplayed/outworked all the other fringe guys without a doubt. But I agree Sven isn't the 15th best Forward of the group. Personally I think Schaller and Motte were the least effective in their roles. At the end of the day I don't think the (potential) loss of Goldy/Sven is gonna be that noticeable.

That’s what I used to argue in here. The guys JB was paying premium prices for back then were other team’s Baertschi’s and Goldobin’s.

Waiver eligible players who were in tough to make their teams. Imagine how happy we’d be to get a 3rd or 4th rounder for these guys instead of waiving them.

I hope Benning realizes the irony here since I’m sure he’s been desperately trying to trade these 2 over the past week.

I find it bizarre that AG was kept and Sven let go. They showed some decent chemistry, albeit in a small sample size in meaningless games but still, that’s more than other bottom 6 showed.
