Haha. I’m in CM also. You can’t compare it to pro sports. Projects end and you move onto the next one. You should learn from your mistakes but I am rarely faced with decisions that have impact beyond the completion date. These GMs have to think about short term, mid term and long term, the long term thinking is something off my radar.

Sheary for a 4th rounder I don't have a problem with even if it meant taken Hunwick off their hands.

Vesey for a 3rd rounder remains to be seen but should play a role on this team.

Giving away lottery tickets to try to help the team take the next step in the short term pales in comparison to spending money in stupid season on guys like Ehrhoff, Leino, Hodgson, Okposo. Or depleting our prospect pool in order to find a quick fix.

Honestly, I get the frustration with the length of rebuild.
But gotta demolish it, clean it up, prepare the land, then start building.
Takes a little bit more time.

Here is where your frustration should be IMO...
The players who where good enough to win games and look good doing so early last year,
they absolutely quit on the team in mid-December through mid-April.
They won't have the balls to this year.

I haven't mentioned the ROR deal at all. I'm talking about the simultaneous credit Botts gets for "building the right way" while spending mid round assets, and he gets credit for letting his UFAs go.
