Feels all but certain Asplund is starting in Rochester. Gilmour may start in Buffalo, but we're going to have some questions to answer when all the D are healthy. Gilmour seems like a very solid 6-7 D teams would be thrilled to give a shot to. Might not make it through waivers.

When Pilut, Montour and McCabe are all healthy, we'll have a logjam at D. Maybe in November/December teams will be looking for D help.

Hopefully he builds on it Saturday, then. He's probably going to get a lot of ice time.

Not a big deal. Aside from Oglevie, it was mostly an ECHL lineup. Olson had a good game.

Final cuts are due by Wednesday at 5. I'm sure they'll be done well before then. My guess is they make all their moves by Monday afternoon.

So can I ask a stupid question?

Gennesee makes Genny Screamers and craft beer? I always imagined that the red cans were for slamming back and regretting it on the can the next day.

And the craft beer is good? I will have to partake when I come down to buffalo in November for the sabres/bills game.

It tends to look that way, good point. They have a number of vets and guys on AHL contracts and then just a handful of Sabres prospects. Borgen, Bryson, Fitz, Asplund, Stephens, Johansson (maybe) is all I can think of off top of my head.

New coach (I can just hear Hamilton saying "They won't get used to the new system until December") but hopefully he is magic.

in short - we can beat any team on any given night but wouldn't be able to win a playoff round if we are lucky enough to make it.
