Asset, 8s defined as, something useful or valuable, not sure I would consider Erickson or Goldobin as either of those, Jake barely useful and very little value. - Reubenkincade
To me, throwing away a guy who hasn’t achieved his potential is a waste, if you can avoid it. LE is a black hole, will never be better than he has been. JV and NG both have the potential to do something better. I wouldn’t give up on them because someone was better in training camp. |

Fair enough. I get frustrated when I see these 2 make the same mistakes, show little consistency, year in year out and tease us every 3rd game, with a decent shift or 2 and get our Hope's up, that they are finally turning a corner...they are not. |

I agree, I just wouldn’t throw them away because of being frustrated. If you can work the system to keep them then do. |

They’ve given him almost every game. They’re looking for him to force them to make a hard decision. - CubanBuffet
Something they cant turn back on like a trade perhaps... was suggesting that myself.
Damn he looks fantastic. People forget he'll be playing as a 23 year old. He's more than ready.

I have to say, Sven has looked impressive this camp. He took on the centres position, defensively and moved the puck up ice, on the Zacmac goal.
I was all for getting rid of him, now, I think, he will be a valuable player on this roster. - Reubenkincade
Health was his only issue and probably still will be but he has been a responsible offensive player for this team over the last couple of seasons. No star power or anything but he clicks through the middle 6 nicely.

If he can play like that on a consistent basis he changes the whole make up of the team. Sutter is a good shut down guy, but he shuts everyone down, linemates included.
Gaudette makes his linemates better. That’s three good young centres that each bring something completely different. |

I was at the game tonight, the last thing I noticed was the five guys Green sent out after the empty netter: Brisebois, Chatfield, MacEwen, Graovac, and Goldobin. |

Green is out of his element, shouldn’t be coaching the Canucks or in the NHL.
My personal opinion. |

He'll be the first to the gallows if it's a flop that's for sure.

I also was at the game, brisebois and Chatfield aren't nhl players clearly.
The player that I most liked tonight was Myers. Impressed with his game. Certainly faster than I expected. Great signing. |

Do you hold onto 2 roster spots, for these players, to allow them to reach their potential?
Seems like a waste of valuable roster space, too me.
Anyways, as Alcatraz pointed out, looks like the decision has been made, with Brisebois, Chatfield, Zacmac, Graovac and Goldobin, being the ones sent down.
Edit, this will only clear 900k from the cap, so another 900, will have to be papered down, I would guess, Gaudette gets papered down. Unfortunately, Loui stays,.
Obviously, I am just guessing. |

Seems to me Gaudette and Baertschi gonna firm a solid 3rd line pair. Sutter should be on line 4.

Horvat
Gaudette
Sutter

I could see Baertschi and Gaudette being on the 3rd line, but Sutter will be the 3rd wheel.
Beagle will be the 4th line centre. |

That's the thing, I'd rather have most anyone other than Sutter as the winger. Even Beagle is better. |

I said he needs to evolve for the team to be better and more consistent. He has made strides over the past few years but this year has the feeling of needing a bigger jump from him. |

I dont think you have to worry too much about Sutter being the 3rd line winger, he will be the centre. |

The same meltdown if they keep him and someone else got waived and picked up.
I'm already ok with Gaudette going down and losing Goldy on waivers. |
