JV and Goldy aren't going to show well with Sutter as the Center that is for sure. Sutter is a black hole once again. I don't think JV and Sutter actually like each other so it is a big negative energy thing. Regardless, JV was soft along the boards and the only hit he seems to (try to) make is on the opposing defender as he cross his own blue line. He needs inspiration from a guy like the Ferkland in my opinion.
Jamie Benn seemed fairly mediocre to me. Hopefully there is another gear or something....
It won't happen but Quinn Hughes should play 20 in the AHL. When he interviews he really comes across as arrogant....
....still super upset that no one fought for BB the other night and only AHLMac went for it tonight. More young blood damage to come if that continues.... - TJTD
Jordie Benn is pretty mediocre. he's a bottom pair guy that brings grit and dependable play. Nothing should look very shiny any exciting about him. Also, how a person interviews doesn't actually impact how they play.

Canucks could use some arrogance/cockiness, the 2011 team was full of it, so were those Hawks/Kings/Ducks teams that we hated back then.
He's probably right about JV and Sutter but I think hate is probably a strong word, I doubt they spend much time together off the ice and I could see JV rubbing Sutter the wrong way |

Buying some stair stringers from home hardware and the gentlemen looks up at me and says "I love that logo, it's way better than the orca" (I have a black skate logo hat).
Then he starts talking about how great Pettersson is and thinks the Canucks are going to be really good this year. Did admit he was a born and raised jets fan.
Compared Petey to Joe Sakic. |

I really like Jordie Benn. What I don't like is him playing with the also defensive first Stecher.
I'd really like to see Benn and Myers play together. Myers and his offence is never ever going to cover Edler when he plays it off of the other teams shin pads.
Benn is like Marc Methot to Erik Karlsson.
Hughes Tanev
Edler Stecher
Benn Myers
Plus Vantel's idea of moving Sutter to the 4th line wing. Keep as much depth as possible for as long as they can until injuries subside or other Utica players show NHL readiness. |

Gotta teach my 9 year old daughter how to play her new Nintendo Switch. Anybody have one and suggest some games for her other than Mario Kart? |

Guaranteed they'll play Myers with Edler because of the money he makes.
I agree with your pairings much more though |

My 11 year old nephew begged me to buy him a game called Rocket League last month so maybe that?
Mario Kart is classic, I used to play that poop all the time in elementary school on my N64 |

Assuming you're looking for easier stuff given her age I'd suggest Yoshi's Crafted World and Kirby Star Allies. Both fairly easy, and cooperative so you can help out as much as needed. Lots of interesting visuals in both for kids as well.
Snipperclips is fun too but the problem solving on the more difficult puzzles might be a bit much.
@Nucker
Rocket league is a little intense to jump into because it's pretty physics-heavy and fast paced. Awesome game though. |

LE’s going down. Benning might not be a genius, but he isn’t a coward. And he hasn’t hesitated to banish his mistakes.
Of all his bad decisions, and there are many, how many besides LE are still around? - CubanBuffet
Beagle and Sutter for now and I suspect Benn and/or Myers by the end of the season. |

I said in the last blog that Benn is Benning’s best acquisition, because he is exactly as advertised. A better than average 3rd pairing guy. |

I never said they did. I’m saying that he is a good fit as a 3rd pairing guy. That he will perform above expectations instead of below, like literally every other player besides maybe Leivo and Pearson. |

What a mixed pre-season of roster juggling. Not a single line is set even Petey's because of BB injury. Plus the final roster whatever that is will not get a chance to play even once together.
They have many days off to practice but it isn't the same as game condition confidence and momentum.
For so many new players on the team you would think they needed some time to gel. May be a slow start if instant chemistry and execution is not found. |

I thought his passing was not very good. Hopefully that is just rust. I was hoping he would be a bit more dependable with a pass...even for the 3rd pairing... |

Disagree. The key is to at least find duos that work well together and pre-season has cleared that up.
EP + Brock was a known commodity but once again they showed chemistry
Bo + Miller was something that made sense on paper but it was nice to see it translate and they should finally give this team a legit top 6
Gaudette + Sven is the pleasant surprise that could help solidify this team's depth scoring woes
It's up to Green to figure out which 3rd wheels complement each line best out of the Ferland, Pearson, Leivo, Goldobin, Virtanen, Sutter and eventually Roussel group |

yes because on a team with an average of 25, there is no room for people to surprise and go above and beyond expectations. come on now. |
