That movie had some fantastic moments but (frank) was it ever long. Too long to sit through in a theater.

I always thought of using Bill for an avatar.

There's that whole thing about proving yourself in the playoffs before getting a real big payday.

Movie was OK. Day Lewis did all the heavy lifting. He was incredible as usual.

They like to keep a couple players around for practices before the season starts.

Go with the guy from There Will Be Blood. The scene in the bowling alley suits you.

Hughes is a mixed bag at this point, I think his decision making was poor more often than not in the games I watched. Obviously it's preseason and he likely will look better on a more structured team.

Canucks need his offense and PR too badly to send him down but I wonder if it might actually be best for his development.

It's a shame Joulevi isn't further along in his development/rehab etc. To be able to take some pressure off the kid.

Hughes just needs to acclimate to the timing and speed of this level. That and being able to trust his partner. Every bonehead looking play was a result of getting crossed up with whoever he happened to be out there with. TG is a moron for not having the pairings set, playing them together, and giving them nights off together. There is ZERO benefit to asking a rookie Dman with that skillset to have several D partners through the preseason. (frank)ing with the confidence of an extremely confident kid for no reason.

Sorry I haven't watched as much as I would like, has he played away from Tanev that much? That's the only pair I've seen him on but obviously you wouldn't be making this comment

There was some miscasting for sure. Cameron to start with and Leo was a bit out of place.

Leo was much better in Django and Wolf of Wall Street. His Calvin Candie in Django was absolutely nuts. Great movie villain.

Holy balls. I get your unending hate for TG infuses every aspect of your hockey thoughts, but perhaps:

- they wanted him getting used to other d partners in case, as what happened the other night, one guy goes down and they have to cycle through pairings
- they wanted to give some of the other fringe guys a steady d man in Tanev, and see how Hughes could handle more responsibility
- from the majority of the games I watched, Hughes was paired with Tanev, except as mentioned the game where Fantenberg went down

All in? All I said was play him with COMPATIBLE linemates and you’ll see what he can do. Graovac or whatever the (frank) is who he was playing with. Getting one shift here and there with Pettersson is not an opportunity. Lines need a chance to work towards production. I’ve said all along, if he’s not with Pettersson he’ll be invisible outside of massive gaffes - easy roster cut & missed opportunity to build value and sell. The Canucks aren’t fans of selling high, so what does it really matter...

I agree that it would be fun to watch goldy take regular shifts with EP. Not sure a coach on thin ice would feel the same way.

Some would say that Pettersson is compatible with anyone so I think some would see the "COMPATIBLE linemates" theory as kind of weak and can be easily dismissed. But those people are rude.

That's fair. But he wasn't doing that much heavy lifting as suggested, some very strong support. Loved Rielly as the cop and Meaney as the sheriff, very well done roles.
