Why would the Sabers want to move Risto? So much talk by fans from different teams to get him. |

Do you even watch the game?
Pulock, Pelech, Leddy, Toews, Boychuk, Hickey... - dawgzhouse
Ouch I can see why they need Risto. No one Dman over 40 points. If they can add him and move Pullock to second PP. This team can significantly increase the offense. Which they desperately need. |

Huh? Leafs D looks great. Much more talent than the Islanders D.
A top 5 of Reilly/Muzzin/Barrie/Dermott/Ceci with a stud young D looking like he might join in Sandin?
Leafs D is very, very underrated. That's a very talented, incredinly fast-moving D. |

You mean the team that gave up the fewest goals in the league last year?? - Dan Petriw
And 31st in GA the year prior with the same D....
Your coach and goalies made the difference. You lost your MVP for an older, much worse goalie. |

YOU ARE DUMB - cbrandt
I actually think people who believe the Leafs might have the worst NHL D with Rielly/Muzzin/Barrie/Ceci/Dernott/Sandin might be much more dumb.
Islanders D can't hold a candle to the talent on the Leafs blueline.
I get it 1st in GA last year, but 31st the year before when you did not have .930 goaltending. And what did the old codger do? He let his MVP leave and replaced him with Varlamov.
There's a reason why Isles are everyone's pick to regress the most this year. |

It's not the worst, but the issue is most of those guys are offensive defenseman, known to at least struggle in their own end at best, implode at worst. Great puck movers and offensive defenseman, but that doesn't keep the puck out of your own net, especially in the playoffs (Insert Risto comment here.) |

But are they worse defensively than Hainsey or Zaitsev? No. And much better at getting the puck out to the forwards.
Leafs D is much more overall skilled, while no worse defensively. I don't think people realize how badly Hainsey and Zaitsev hurt them. |

This may be the Leafs best defence in years, which isn't saying much. Only Rielly signed for next year but they'll have mega dollars under the cap to sign free agents |
