He's overpaid by about a mil a season on this deal. No doubt.

If he lights it up over the next couple of years Dubas will look like a genius signing him long term. Say someone like Point scores 90+ each of the next 3 years, what's he asking for per season on his next deal? 12, 13 AAV?

If his play decreases at all then Dubas is going to fry hard on this I think.

- Kinger34

Even if point ask for 12 on his next contract, the team currently saves so much money which will allow them (or a chance) to build a great team. Marner's deal...doesnt really allow for that.
I need Point to only get 80pts each of the next 3 years and Marner to get 100 plus each year.

I loved getting stoned and watching Nova

The planets series is pretty cool. Learned a poop-ton about our solar system. Y’all ever heard of the Kuiper belt? They didn’t teach that poop in school.

So, devils advocate here...you are framing this like some harmless fun with buddies...

But it kind of sounds like a bunch of physically imposing drunk dudes tried to enter her car - pretty scary and threatening TBH. Then he exposed himself to her?

They did for us, but I do agree that getting high and watching science shows and documentaries is one of the best things ever.

YES!!! THIS is the point I was making earlier. Not so much Point vs Marner and contract value....but what it allows each team to do over the next 3-4 years. Tampa benefits WAYYYYYY more with this deal. In-season moves....Leafs could use that 2-3 million....trade deadline.....same thing. Then off-season, defense needs a re-build or re-sign of many....again, the 2-3 million would help there a LOT. Any way you slice it, the 3 year deal saving over 3 million a year on the Cap, heck...close to 4 million. It is huge over these 3 CUP-window years!

I think this is one of the most cringe-worthy reads i have had in a while.

a quote: "It would be a good time to sign a stick, jersey and have someone deliver the goods to the security guard with some flowers, chocolates and a card saying how sorry he is. Maybe even line up some tickets for a game in Arizona? Make it happen and let’s get this drama taken care of."

This is absolutely ridiculous. This woman is an active combat veteran and suffers from PTSD. He tried to force his way into her vehicle "just to see what she would do".

Forget the underpants/mooning part of this, and set aside the Toronto media frenzy; this is completely reckless and its behavior that speaks volumes. a group of men should not be entertained by the emotional and behavioral response to what a woman might do when you try to enter her vehicle, drunk, with a group of men, and 2 in the morning. its disgusting and to be honest, denotes a lack of conscience. you think some flowers and choclates are the way to resolving this?

you are an absolute joke.

also, i could be wrong here, but i think Arizona is an open-carry state; this is a great way to get shot.

this isnt getting blown out of proportion, its getting the wrong kind of attention in the form of underwear jokes and sarcasm about captainship of the team. would you want a group of drunk men trying to enter your car at 2am?

get real and grow up.

You must be younger than I am, it wasn’t discovered until 1992.

Yeah, it’s great. It’s getting harder to find material though.

What...guys on message board downplaying an event possibly involving their superstar player maybe harrassing a female? Crazy.

But yes you are correct. It doesnt look good and no "boys will be boys" is not at all an acceptable excuse.

However, we havent heard all the facts yet and I believe the trolls take on here that matthews needs to seek help is ....way too dramatic and foolish.

Jesus Christ. Sounds like a L&O:SVU episode done with a budget. I will have to look it up.
- RafiDRW

Sorry, I stepped away from my computer before Fake provided the synopsis. It is similar to that, but done soooo much better and is a story deep enough to dive into for a season. It is really done well.

To Aetherial, it is a bit depressing, but unfortunately it is something people have to go through. I think they did a great job with it.

it's based on a true story too...not sure if the synopsis mentioned that.
