The Leafs have a hole at #6 on the right side and a hole on the left until Dermott comes back. That's an opportunity to test guys out but not necessarily guarantee them a spot all year.

These young guys should get some games to start the season but should probably be sent back down and/or alternate the same way previous rookies were rotated. The NHL is a tough league for a 19 year old to play 82 games on defense.

I got two free tickets to any Leafs home game (beer not included).

Which game would be #1 must see?

I've got Habs and Bruins on my list so far.

I've said it before and I'll say it again:

Sandin likely plays 9, < 40, or no games this season.

The only way he plays more than 40 is if he is an absolute monster (he's not... yet).

I've got 4 seats for the Dec 23rd matinee against Carolina: early game and many beers afterwards to celebrate Gardiner having his jockstrap dangled off many times over.

Agreed.

Test him out but don't burn a year on his deal for no reason either.

No matter how good he is for his age, he's not better than Dermott so when he comes back, his spot is gone anyway.

In the absolute depths of the GFC, Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac set up a website with all the foreclosed properties across the US of A.

I was seriously considering buying a house on the east coast of Florida. IIRC, it was about the same latitude as Tampa. It was on a street that had beach access. I think it was $60,000 (and at the time, our dollars were at par).

My plan was to bulldoze it, lay down gravel, and simply wait until the market picked up again.

I shoulda done it.

- Atomic Wedgie

That house would be worth $150 - 200k without doing any work and you would have at nice exchange rate capital gain too. We bought a larger property in 2010 and it has been a great investment.

Wednesday, Dec. 4th?

Babez, weekday games suck.

It's also a back-to-back situation so their crappy back-up is going to be in net and get lit up by Kadri.

I'm looking at a site thet says it's 3.28% higher Than Montreal.
- bobbyisno1

Numbeo? Also says purchasing power is about 13% higher in Tampa than Montreal.

In the end, any of these players can afford to buy and live in any NHL cities.

State tax free teams have an advantage imo.

I had the same dilemma with Montreal on Oct. 5th. Saturday night against the Habs, but they play Columbus on the 4th. Do I really want to risk seeing a back-up that night?

Oct. 19th the Bruins seems to be the best choice.

Or Tuesday, 29th to see Ovechkin and the cocaine cowboy?

My step father bought a condo in West Palm that was $895k for $172K cash. Beautiful place, even has marble baseboards.

Great purchase by your step father since prices are back to more normal levels. West Palm beach is not inexpensive so well done

Good thinking - this is where the real decisions are made. No one would have bowed to Marner and his agent here, and no one would put a 19 year old on the roster based on merit through the preseason. We all just work or study in other fields for far less money than NHL team executives because we're altruistic.
