Players choice. Sometimes they get through it and dont make it worse, sometimes they make it worse. Making the NHL is worth the risk. If he sat out longer he likely would have been cut earlier. The worst case is he still gets sent down so why not? |

Bad luck. Hope he doesn't miss more time in the AHL and it becomes a season long issue now. |

There are teams out there with holes in their defense and aren't really expected to contend. Why wouldn't they take a shot at him and see if they can develop him at the NHL level? The physical tools are attractive. - MJL
I think it would easier to get get Haag through waivers than Morin.
It was Hakstol who thought Haag was better than Morin and I don’t agree with most of his decisions.
Who would you rather take a chance on, a player who is statistically one of the worst defensemen the last 3 years or a player who is bigger, faster, and hasn’t been one of the worst defenseman in the league for the last 3 years |

Actually it was also the GM's decision. I disagree, Haag is the better player until proven otherwise.

Some people got made fun of hard for questioning why he was playing shortly after having a groin injury. |

I believe some of the argument is from avid Phantoms viewers who firmly believe that during their coinciding time in the AHL that Morin was the better performer.
However, to your point...a decision was made and since then the body of NHL work for Haag vs. Morin is clearly in his favor.
I think most (myself included) wonder what might have been if Hexy had rolled the dice on Morin at that time instead of Haag. |

I think Morin goes through as he is the question mark due to previous injuries and not proving himself at the nhl level. Hagg has. Another team wouldn’t hesitate. Unless it is a bottom feeder team or injuriesi don’t see Morin as a lock for any team. Then they might risk the waivers as well. If anything I see him as part of a package in a trade where hagg could get something in return straight up. Not saying I want them to trade him. |
