No I'm pointing out that the Jets and Chevy by extension don't have much to brag about. - BWJumper
Maybe we can brag about "The Birdman?" |

With Tkachuk signing in Calgary today, the Jets now have 33.3% of the remaining RFA's. Might not mean anything, but its an interesting fact! |

Like you say, it doesn't mean a thing, not one thing. |

The Birdman has some qualities that definitely make him a unique individual, which seems applicable in the case of goalies.
The kid is well travel already at 21, accustom to living in a foreign country at 17 with limited language skills and had already lived far away from home in Russia at 16 or so.
Go out and watch him play with the Moose, we have not seen this type of puck playing goalie in Wpg before that can clear the puck out his own zone at slapper speed, deke out opposing players with the puck, make tape to tape passes to his players and seems to be able to stop the puck.
Entertaining to say the least. |

I like Berdin. With him in net, who needs puck moving defensemen?

Should it not be 66.6 %?

You are right! I don't know why I thought there were 6 high profile RFA's left. The Jets do have the remaining 66.6% of RFA's left. Once Rantanen signs, we will have 100% of all remaining RFA's left! |

Nick Suzuki most likely making the Canadiens opening day roster as a top 6 talent makes me sad. Especially with Vesalainen not really impressing much at camp. We traded the pick that Suzuki was selected with to protect Tobias Enstrom. Somebody on this board posted last year that Vesalianen was better than Suzuki, even though Suzuki won OHL player of the year.
I think that Suzuki, if developed effectively, could have been our answer to our second line center problem. |

I had a similar thought at the time. I wished they didn’t trade positions with LVK to protect Toby for 30-40 games and picked Valimaki instead. Could have used the D now.

Hot take D Ross. I bet you’re right on Connor. 8x7.25
Not Laine though...
Mike Liut is shutting the door like he’s having flashbacks to 1981.
He’s got the vintage white mask on during his video calls with Chevy I bet. |

Connor, maybe. Laine, doubt it.
Almost have the feeling that one is afraid to sign in case the other one gets more $$$.
So perhaps you're right, one signs and then the other one - depending on the $$$ of course. |

I think you are right on connor’s Money but it will only be 6 years so I say,
Connor - 6 years at 7.25
Laine - 2 years at 6.3 |

Don't ever recall wanting to sell you latex. I do though want to make good luck kits for Jets players. Apparently Laine broke a mirror or walked in the same path as a black cat last year. Its all that bad luck that caused him to play so poorly.
Let me know when we should get together to exorcise the bad luck out of Laine's life! |

Isn't he the same goalie that Gretzky scored most of his goals on? He did not do a very good job of shutting the door, if memory serves me correctly. |

Chevy won't offer Connor more than Tkachuk and Morrissey. Long term number might be 7m, but I am betting both sign bridges. Laine may be traded. |

CorydonKeith, no other NHL GM has trumpeted how unique the Jets are in terms of drafting and developing. In every interview that Cheveldayoff does, he always says that the Jets are a "draft and develop" franchise. One would think if that motto keeps getting trumpeted that we would have tonnes of prospects getting ready to make the leap into the big leagues as opposed to the handful of the players just mentioned. - TheUltimateJet
Ultimate - the answer - no other team in the league has ALL their #1's from 2011 to 2016 on their starting roster
As for the number of roster starters in later rounds - I don't know the answer ... but it seems to me, Jets have a large number ... eyeball, only
As for 2017 to 2019, Jets had only two 1st round picks: Veaslainen and Heinola ... the former doesn't seem to be coming along as well as we want ... the latter (so early) could be another Morrissey type pick (yes - a TOTAL guess at this time) ... out of those years - Samberg was a 2nd rounder that is expected to be a starter at some point

Florida also has all their first rounders playing in the NHL over the same period. |
