I believe Babcock has 3 more years and something like $18M left one his contract after this season.

Makes LE’s contract look almost palatable, though of course coaching staff don’t count against the cap and the Leafs have basically unlimited funds for their non-player personnel.

I definitely think they could of done better with their contracts but we've also seen teams have success with top heavy rosters.

I think they got good before they had expected and are paying the price for that. Ceci's contract and Zaitsev's stand out to as the truly bad contracts IMO.

They'll be able to make some room when they need to by moving Kapenen, Johnsson or Nylander. It will be interesting to see how Barrie does and if they can keep him.

I think going after J.T. was a mistake. He’s crazy good and he gives them one of the best top sixes in the league, but it takes away all roster flexibility. Their forward depth and D is below average and will only get worse unless the cap takes a big jump.
