This is true comedy.
Dahlin is going to be the best defenseman in all of hockey by Christmas. He was already by most analytics a top 20 defenseman at 18.
I wouldn't trade him for Laine AND Connor - matty12345
Dahlin will be great but won't be this year. Give him time.

Reinhart is a better player then laine. More of a completer player. Laine value is all time low. Don’t need to offersheet him. So that is not his value. To make cap work risto and sheary is enough to get laine contract work. Then can add prospects not named cozens and picks.
I think fair trade would be
Risto, sheary, Thompson and 2020 second
For
laine 2020 fourth
Might be over payment - Bigdog1991
This is just dumb. |

Laine for Dahlin and Bogosian.
Bogosian is probably injured 60 of 82 games and is a pending ufa. Levels off the salary cap issue.
Yes I know this won’t happen but scorers like Laine don’t show up that often. - JetsAvs
What are you smokin? Im not even close to being a Sabers fan but Dahlin is worth 3 Laine's. That kids a real hockey player. |

If Sabres want to be d!cks or smart....
Just offer Sheet Laine for like 8.45 for 5 years where compensation would be a First, second, and third-round pick...Can negotiate after ie extra first Risto etc
Forgot the repercussion BS... If successful will be a copycat formula like everything else successful |

Why is Laine's value at an all time low? 40 goal winger tough to find that.
Was Marners value at an all time low last week? - bobbyisno1
Are you comparing a player that produced over 90 PTs last season to one that produced 50?....just because they’re both supposed “superstars”. Laine puts up another stinker like last season and that tag no longer applies to him.
You’re glossing over the bad (by previous comparisons) season he had like it didn’t exist and shouldn’t factor into his worth...that’s not reality. |

Problem is if the jets match laine is stuck in Winnipeg for 5 years |

Than move on to Point
They can’t match without some major movement. Maybe even up it...
At least will end all the saga 😝 |

I dont think a lot of people here understand what value is and how value is determined. Neither Laine or Ristolainen are at low value. |
|
|
|
Laine for Ristolainen, both the Sabres' 2019 1st round picks, Middlestadt and the Sabres' 2020 1st round pick. Laine is a VERY YOUNG franchise player. He is quite capable of being a top 10 scorer and he is a PROVEN top 6 forward right out of his first draft year. The Jets can then flip Middlestadt, a prospect and a pick to the rebuilding Wings for the more experienced Anthony Mantha. Mantha could leave Detroit as a UFA in a couple years. So they can accelerate their rebuild this way. |

To WPG: Rasmussen Ristolainen, Sam Reinhardt, Dylan Cozens, 2020 first round pick
To BUF: Patrik Laine, Adam Lowry, 2020 second round pick

On second thought, forget this. The Sabres traded away O'Reilly for Patrick Berglund, Vladmir Sobotka, Tage Thompson, 2019 first and 2021 second rounder. Essentially they got a bag of pucks for O'Reilly.
The real trade should be:
To WPG: Jack Eichel
To BUF: Patrik Laine, Adam Lowry |

What kind of treasure trove would the Sabers have to offer to acquire Patrik (play me on the first) Laine? - viper488
An experienved wingre with siz, gritt and scoring touch + A sollid Veteran Dman, and an experienced backup golie. So, Okposo, Hunwick and Hammontd may be a but of an oerpayment, but 3 solid pieces should entiyse Winnpeg.

IF you were a Bruins fan, lighting fan or any other team that hasn't been on a golf course seven days after the end of the season I might agree.
Until you actually do that. Leaf fan should take a good look in the mirror!

Kind of a lateral move going from Canadian-Buffalo to American-Buffalo |

So Risto, Mitts, Cozens, Johnson, and 2020 first for Laine....
I'm going to go ahead and say no. Like stop posting no. |
