Anyone else unable to reply from their phone on here?

I have to say I love Danny G. I’ve always been a fan. However there is talk of retiring his number and I don’t agree. I think retired numbers should be reserved for very exceptional players. I like low digit numbers as I’m sure many new talents entering the league do. I find it annoying that I’ll never be watching a Ranger wearing number 1,2,3,7,9. (Not arguing the players that earned them) Next up, all the teen numbers will eventually be gone. I’m sure I’ll catch sh*t for this post. I’m not looking to jump off a cliff over this or anything. 😝 Just pointing out a little peeve of mine. Wondering if anyone has thought the same thing

If the Rangers had won a Cup or 2 then yes, but they didnt so he shouldnt have his number retired.

LOL,

this (frank)ing guy, I don't know what the hell he wants

basically this comes down to because he hates the Panarin signing and we all loved it, that translates into we all have lofty expectations for this team THIS season

I don't even blame people for having lofty expectations, I've been on the drinking kool aid stages myself and then snap back to reality. I can't give you a number, but I'd say getting the #1 UFA on the market, the #2 pick, and a legitimate defenseman for a pittance is pretty rare for one offseason. As much as it's wholly possible with a bunch of growing pains that we won't even be .500 this year, I'm not going to blame anyone for being stoked for this year. Will be one of the most fun years we've had this century, even up there with years we actually contended.

If NYR is going for a shot a P O's & cup run ....I dont see it yet , moved needle alot in off season ,now its time to fill the slots & complete team till trade deadline

Line up as of now with the HUGE hole at 2 c

Panarin z bad Buchny

Krieds chtyl K K

Fast Howden Names/Strome

Lemeiux Boo Mckegg

Shey Trouba

Staal ADA

Hijak Fox

Smith

HANK Georgiev

Pieces to trade for upgrade : definitely center ,possible vet on D

krieds ,georgiev ,names ,strome, howden, ada ,lindgren or hijak draft picks ,other prospects in system not mentioned ..I E . keane

depends on how high up the talent line we will go to fill 2 c & vet D 2nd pair level

IF WE DONT FILL THE 2 SLOTS OUTLINED...TRADE HANK NOW !!!!!

If i were him if not going all out get me where they do , hes got 2 maybe 3,4 yrs at cup level play, already the questions or buzzards are circling with talk of "are you done " and "how do u feel at 37 now"... make your move NYR teams are in flux ,we need what we need ,chtyl looks lost as center , howden aint it

I've wanted them to get a 2C to sort of help Chytil out a little bit, but if the plan is to play him as your 2C, you have to play him. When you have young guys in your lineup like that, there are going to be plenty of nights initially were everyone looks terrible. It's part of the process. What you would hope for is that as time goes on the number of terrible nights goes down and he grows into the part.

I can almost guarantee you that no matter how well Chytil pans out, he probably isn't scoring 70 points in his first year as 2C. You hope that he can get 40-50 with good weapons flanking him and that by the end of the season the game is coming easier for him.

You do realize Hank can't be traded. The team approached him about waiving and he turned it down. Who would want him at this point in the downslide of his career?

Hank can change his mind from last yr.

downside? he hsnt had a team in front of him in 2 yrs ,A V's last & quinns 1st

he is aging but could play top level hockey & win if given chance with top team

Best news is No news ,havnet heard a thing about any NYR since Shatty buyout
Bodes well for a Brassrd for Z bad deal

i like Pageau ,Henrique as centers ,nothing if solid 2 way face off centers who can
help upgrade middle for us .Chtyl wont be there if hes still there ,would rather see
Strome or Names till we or move up Howden or Boo who knows what sticks when u fling enuff feces at the wall .... they call it a montage

Strome and Nam can play 2C if Chytil struggles. If Strome plays like he did when he was here, he is more than serviceable until a trade is made. A combo of Kreider, Strom, and Nam and ?? can maybe bring in a good center at deadline...no?

I can't wait for the Rangers to send most of these kids down or back to junior. Really want to see a game or 2 in the preseason of actual lines and D pairs that will start the season

Strome is such an obvious regression candidate because his shooting percentage. I would absolutely root for him if the team went in that direction, I just don't see it happening well.

Names is someone I was on board with as a steady hand. He has at least shown he can play with talent and not look out of place, and could probably be well enough defensively to help cover up some of the inevitable rookie gaffes.

Our best chance by far is hope one of our young guys pans out. If our plan is to fill it internally, we need whoever is going to bring us the higher upside. Maybe if Lias really is better this year and improved his conditioning, we could even audition him if Chytil struggles.

Didn't bother to read this, but let me guess... we need a #2 center? And, it's an easy fix... just trade Hank, right?
Serious questions here: Do you know what a no-trade clause is? Or a salary cap?

Werent you the guy who wanted to trade Names and Strome, send down or buy out Smith and Staal and let the kids play?? That really was a brilliant idea you had.
