FTR Mike none of these posters make me feel small but their pack rat mentality is sickening. I am positive that if we all were together in person discussing the Flyers these attacks would not so blatant. I can stand up to anyone in a hockey debate but it is impossible on this blog with so many keyboard warriors. They may or may not know there hockey but they should all be like Pelle31 and this would be a great site to visit.

No reason anyone should feel bad about comments made here. The bickering sometimes gets tedious, but for the most part I think most of the nastiness is just people venting a little. Of course they wouldn’t talk like that in person. They are probably all perfectly nice people. Some guy just called me a “snowflake” (don’t know what that means), a female dog, and I think questioned my manhood (suggested I need a manpon) because I doubt that Morin is good enough to play in the NHL. I’m guessing he’s just pissed at the eagles game or something. I’d prefer I didn’t get attacked for my opinions, but I don’t take it seriously when I do.

Eagles season is over at least the flyers have a chance for a few months
- 2Real

Well if the Eagles poop the bed all season at least we should get rewarded with a strong pick up in the draft, hopefully a legit d back.

Full disclosure, I missed today's game but a loss isn't really surprising given all the injuries / over rated defense.

Well said Mike, to be honest I rarely post because of this group of keyboard bullies sticking like flies to a bulls ass. It does not matter whether my comment is excellent or lousy they just rub my 40 years of fantasy gm in my face, F them all. I know the nhl and not just the flyers as well as anyone. It is very sad having the best blogger on HB in Bill Meltzer and having some of the most ignorant and rude posters I have seen on HB. I am glad you have called them out and I agree 100%.

Defense was not the problem today.

7 dropped passes on the other hand including a few big plays .

I just don't like how they barely utilize the LB positions and put so much pressure to perform on the line and db's. Recipe for disaster with how weak the db group is.

Obviously missed catches is a whole other issue. Yikes.

Well if he's really getting moved every team should be kicking the tires. That kind of talent doesn't come along often. The ice off comments don't bug me much. Just seems like the kid wants out of Winnipeg. Evander Kane wanted out too and he's doing pretty well for himself now...

Rumor is they want two 1st's. Personally I think he's worth it as long as you don't expect your team to be picking top 10 the next two years...

Its a difficult deal to make. You first have to anticipate what Laine's salary demands are and my guess would be north of 8 aav.

We only have about 1.2m in cap space.

So a lot depends on what goes the other way because not only do the cap hits have to jibe, they have to be players Winnipeg wants and we are willing to part with.

I honestly don't see it happening. We would basically be trading quality roster players for negotiating rights.

I just think it is hilarious how someone can make one post with a line like “Morin should be a winger” and all hell breaks loose. With insults, hurt feelings, character lectures, you name it. It just happens over and over again around here. Funny to watch but also a bit sad.

Yeah, the cap is definitely the biggest issue. I just hope he doesn't end up on a rival.

He's certainly a good player and a very good goal scorer but I think you have him overrated. In terms of what he brings to the ice other than goal scoring and the position he plays. Also have to consider the cost to acquire both in terms and player and cap assets. For me, it's a no go.

It's fair to question giving him a huge deal if you think he's got big holes in the other parts of his game. I think you plug him with one of our playmakers and watch the goals pile up. That shot would have to have a positive impact on the PP as well imo. As far as the rest of the game it's definitely still a work in progress for a young kid.

That said, it's probably correct that making that cap hit work here would require some significant juggling that likely isn't realistic. For the love of God I just hope he doesn't end up on the Pens, Rags or Devils.

Exactly! "This place".. then why not leave and find a new place if you can't "handle" an idea as insulting and atrocious as making a D a winger.

These kind of responses are why you will all have the same 10 people to talk to ( or argue with) for years to come. God forbid someone offer different ideas (even for discussions sake) without getting chastised or embarrassed.

Is it beyond you guys to just not be part of that particular conversation... or just let it go? Or do you HAVE to make people feel small so you feel better?

- mikel33

Aaaaannnnd you just added to why it continues to be a small.

Couldn't you just let let it go? Couldn't you just avoid the conversation?

God forbid I offered how it was dumb and it was different from your view.

Did you have to make me feel so small and yourself better by trashing my response?

Honestly, do you really feel Morin at wing is a sound logical idea?

What about the holes in the lineup that a potential deal for Laine would create?

Really depends what the cost is. With us needing to clear cap room to get it done we're probably going to have to give up too much, unless Winnipeg has something else to send back our way too.

I suspect in the end they're going to get a good young roster player and a high end prospect for him.

Well you don’t know what they have to give so can’t address that.

What would you suspect the deal would be. Hypothetically of course

What good young roster player from the Flyers might that be? Might it be two good young roster players? I think it's pretty clear this idea hasn't been thought through very well by those suggesting it.
