I am the same. I didn't see it as racist a few years ago either. I am not sure at this point, if I see it as racist. I see it as inappropriate in certain instances, but I am not sure why it is 100% always racist. Either way, 18 years ago it was not considered racist at all, and I doubt that was his intention either. So, I agree with you - he handled it properly and this should be the end of it. But it won't be.

For sure the old videos and the meaning of it back then was racist. I agree with that 100%. But that was my previous point - does that mean it's always rooted in racist intent automatically? Not sure it is, but it gets treated that way now.
