Same here. To be honest, games 1 & 2 were more like how Matthews checked out Sabourin. Just a whole bunch of "Who is this guy?" and wondering how they skate, if they do anything noticeably well. Games 3 & 4 you sort of get an idea of who you want to pay more attention to. By game 5 half of them will be cut.

Right. The first couple games are guys getting their legs and such. I'm honestly more concerned for guys just staying healthy in pre-season, especially early pre-season.

I do agree to look at the special teams later on and see how they are stacking up but again, it doesn't really matter until more of the regulars are in each game.

From what you've said, I'm not even sure you were alive - but nearly 30 years ago when a bunch of us were just moving out into the daunting world for the first time, a friend of mine survived on Harvey's .99 cent burger and their "anyway you like it" approach.

He'd order the burger, and then with lettuce and tomatoes and peppers he'd just keep saying, "more, more, more" until he was happy that he could make a big salad out of it. He did this at least twice every day for like 3 or 4 months at the Harvey's on Queen St. in Toronto. I honestly can't recall anymore, but a part of me thinks he got Italian or ranch dressing with it somehow, too.
