And again, I said I agree on Vorobyov and NAK. They are 4th line tweeners.
I don't think an injury-shortened 14 game AHL season should be held against Rubstov, though. Do you agree? - jmatchett383
I agree but still would be disappointed if Stewart beat him out. I can't come to terms with this dude playing in England then making our team. |

Not sure if it's lost in translation but Laine seems to be saying all the wrong things.
"When you're having contract negotiations, one thing always is who are you playing with," Laine explained, as translated by Jalonen for Winnipeg's TSN Radio 1290. "With the merits I have, somewhere else I'd have an opportunity to play with the best players. Everybody who understands hockey knows that.
"There are top lines and then there is our line. But I play with the guys I'm told to play." |

Jeez.....if these comments weren't taken out of context via some translator and Laine knows what he's saying given his choppy English, this is a direct way to get yourself traded, which very much seems like what he wants. me personally, I just wish he'd stay in Winnipeg instead of having the potential of another talented player finding themselves in the Metro. |

I agree. I don't think Stewart should be part of the team. Maybe as 13th forward instead of a kid sitting.
Much like Ghost in 15/16 and Myers last year, they want want to start Rubstov in the AHL simply because he hasn't played a real pro game in close to a year and want to make sure he gets fully acclimated to the pro pace again before putting him into the NHL.

There’s no way Myers doesn’t make the team. He’s far better than Hagg and Morin. I think he is going to develop into a top pairing dman honestly. Zamula had a sweet little deke at the blue line last night that impressed me. He could really be a steal.. I think we will see maybe Hagg/Morin traded within the next year or 2 |

Especially with being a RH shot, he's pretty much a lock to make the team. Hagg and Morin are likely the odd men out. If they trade one of them, of the two, Hagg makes the most and would bring the best (relative) return. |

His play last night pretty much solidified it. I was expecting that if he just played his game and didn't do anything crazy, and that he didn't "lose it", meaning playing vs NHL caliber talent and didn't look out of place, he would be penciled in. The fact he looked pretty good all but sealed it in my opinion. I thought it was really his spot to lose the entire offseason. |

Agreed. Though I'd rather keep Hagg over Morin, I don't think there's any Chiarelli-caliber GMs at the moment that would give much of a return for Morin. |

For me Stewart looks real classy, the kinda girl you take home to mom. However, Rubstov looks bat s#!t crazy but is probs better in the sak.
I'd stick with Rubstov and I think AV will too. |

Laine played most of his 5-on-5 with Ehlers and Little last season. He probably wants Schiefele centering him, I'd guess |

Right now, the Flyers sit with 1.167 of cap space under the upper limit. However that is with only 11 forwards. It's also with 8 defenseman. If Patrick is not ready to start the season and goes on IR, that would mean the Flyers would need to add two forwards to field a full lineup of forwards. Morin and Haag would need to clear waivers to be sent down to the AHL. Myers would not. I can see a scenario where the Flyers would temporarily demote Myers. Things can happen between now and then though. |

Myers is the least of this team's worries. Dude should be in top 4 with Provorov, Niskanen and Sanheim |

So if Chris VandeVelde plays 82 games on the Flyers' 4th line this year, you're okay with it because the 12th forward has minimal impact? - jmatchett383
It isnt what I would want but Im not going to make a huge deal of it. At the end of the day the coach is putting the guy he feels is best there. If I disagree, I disagree. Im not going to complain about a player that plays 5-8 mins a game. |

There are guys who weren't in the morning skate who are playing tonight (Rubtsov, Vorobyev, Sushko and Stewart). |
