Stewart is cooked and if he's deemed to be one of the 12 best forwards the team can ice it does not bode well for the season. Simple as that.
I know some of you guys get chubs every time you see a guy throw a punch but that's not enough reason to carry someone. We have plenty of vet forwards as well so please don't give me the veteran presence excuse. - hereticpride
exactly what i'm thinking, slap in the face if he makes this team. |

He is still a good 4h line player. Nothing more. - daryl stanley
Agreed. His ability to score for a bottom six player is better than people seem to realize. I think he made an All-Star game two short years ago but I think it might have been a sympathy vote? Am I wrong? |

Raffl, even if his offense isn't at he level it has been in the past can still play with pace and play effectively on the forecheck. He's a solid player away from the puck. Bill mentioned that Stewart is skating well but from what I saw last night, he wasn't as quick as I would like. I don't think he can push the pace like Raffl can. Stewart as a 13th forward might be okay but can he contribute on the PK or do anything else besides play 5-8 minutes of ES play? - MJL
The answer I would say is no, which to me makes Raffl more valuable to this team than Stewart. |

Reaves is a legit nhl Player
Gabriel is not.
How can you compare those 2? - daryl stanley
looking at the role both players play. Gabriel is energy and the old way enforcer type....as is reaves, if you want my honest comparison. was trying to throw some humor out there. If reaves didn't fight the way he does he would not be in the nhl.(period) |

Exactly. Why is he even being given a try out? Because he is a stand up guy and did things right by Fletcher at one point or another?
What a bad way to do business. I want the best team on the ice. Period. Forget about all that other crap.

Might as well try and get a 4th for Morin now. Not an AV type dman - Just5
He only likes nimble puck movers like Girardi and Marc Staal. |

Myers was fantastic last night I thought. - Hextall271
He was. a couple giveaways at the blue line, but boy can he recover quickly. I can't believe he stopped that first shot on the empty net too, thought it was a wrap.

It makes me feel better that he's here with the slight chance he was invited to have a nice underdog story for behind the glass lol. The fact he was actually featured in the teaser video makes me think this even more |

Guessing at a game 1 forward lineup. Pitlick and Patrick on IR.
Giroux-Couturier-Konecny
JVR-Hayes-Voracek
Lindblom-Laughton-Farabee
Andreoff-Rubtsov-Raffl

I think it would be easier to see where Stewart’s game is right now if they put him in a preseason match alongside Laughton who is a hard skating north/south type. Wasn’t he with Ruby last night? Ruby looks like a playmaker to me.

your original statement, "Whoever the 12th fwd is will have no bearing on any success the flyers have or don’t have."
To think that a 12th forward will have no bearing on any success is foolish. If you just take a look at St. Louis and Boston, they lasted so long due to the fact they could roll 4 lines night in and night out. Guys like Oskar Sundstrom, Noel Acciari, Sean Kuraly, Alex Steen, etc etc, absolutely contributed to the team's success last year. Do I believe that a team's success "hinges" on 4th liners compared to 1st and 2nd liners? No, not exactly. But having no bearing on success I disagree with because they absolutely do, and conversely are included when a team fails. |

Well when the season is over conduct a T test and pass on your results
Can’t reme when a 12fwd was mentioned for a teams failure. |

Changing the subject - the new rules should be fun.
As many coaches challenges as you like? Doesn't take timeouts? If you get one wrong it's a 2 min delay of game penalty, and the 2nd wrong is a 4 min penalty? And not-called penalties such as a high stick right before the goal can be challenged, negating the goal? This could get interesting - our video guy is about to pull his weight...
Goalies knocking nets off will give the other team a goal....

Well again, you are saying here when a 12th forward was mentioned for a teams failure. I never said he would be the #1 reason for a teams failure. You said had no bearing, which is what I am disagreeing with. If a team fails, I believe the responsibility falls on everyone, especially in hockey. Hockey takes all 20 players to succeed in my opinion, and when a team fails, maybe some players get more blame, but they all get blame. |

what does it say about our prospects if he beats them out? - ClaudeFather
It says that they're players with little to no pro experience under their belts who haven't finished fully maturing mentally any physically. |
