I understand that it’s early.
I understand that few of the regulars have played.
I understand both games have been on the road.
I understand most of the skaters in the 2 games are future Ice Hogs.

But, not counting the overtime goal by WSH, or the empty netter by DET, the Blackhawk GAA is 3.50.

The JC supporters (apologists) have reassured us that JC just needs training camp to implement his defensive ‘system’.

When, exactly, will that be occurring? It’s 17 days until the 1st regular season game.

I don't necessarily disagree with you, but I'm going to wait until the regular season before I start calling for Colliton's head. I think he could be a really good coach based on how they played in the second half of last year. Also, Kane has (publicly) supported Colliton, and it seems like the veterans are on board with his vision for the team.

OK ... let's figure this out. Last Thursday the players had their physicals. Friday and Saturday were full practice days. Sunday was a scrimmage and the fan convention. Monday and today were morning skates and games on the road ... so ... getting my calculator out ... yep - it's been 2 days of practice and Colliton doesn't have his new system installed and clicking yet. I say run him out of town.

Do we need to see a manual on how the system works? The.exhibition season is too short to properly teach the system.

When you have so many prospects and borderline talent vying for work.....I think that you have to concentrate on review and practice the system between the cramped scheduled games. Expecting thorough indoctrination and application of the system won't be seen toward the end of the training camp games. By then the roster size is smaller and the players are more fully practicing and understanding..

You hire a coach and if your agenda calls to support him, there is no early dismissal. The signs for an improvement in team capability are talked about so let us give Colliton the opportunity to go forth with the new system and a stronger talented roster. The in team competition for roster spots has us talking.

So you want to let Colliton go because he is not a Hall of Fame coach. He isn't smart enough or capable to coach, eh? Is that what you are all about. Because most teams in sports do not hire that sort of coach. Those coaches are not aplenty in unemployment lines. There are many coaches who did just fine and they never started coaching as a Hall of Fame instructor. You sound like you are walking on egg shells just dieing to fire Colliton. That is nonsense.

I noticed that you have good input and sound reasoning on this board. Except not on what i am perceiving is your mighty lack of trust in Colliton

Colliton had maybe a half of one cup of coffee with the NYI.

Btw i always wondered if Tim Horton coffee was really big and poular in Canada. Is it a leading coffee seller? Do you like it more than any other brand? Or is it just a descent but well advertised product? Or put it like this: does Tyler wake up with Tim Horton coffee when he cranks out his next blog column

A loss tonight and McD will be holding a think tank tomorrow morning on what controlled message to give the media.
Stanbo will let everybody know he is just waiting for the Leafs to fire Mike Babcock in Newfoundland after they lost to Ottawa last night so he can fix the JC problem.

I agree with you, but this is exactly why I’ve been a little skeptical of the whole “he just needs a full training camp to implement his system” narrative from the beginning.

Camp is so short, less than three weeks in fact. Then add in the fact that they start playing games on day 3, and the fact that they have to travel halfway across the world to finish the pre-season and begin the real season...I just don’t see how they are going to learn a new system in such a compressed time when they couldn’t seemingly do it in 3/4 of a season last year?

Seems to me that they’d be better off practicing every day for two and a half weeks, and then only playing maybe 2-3 pre-season games tops. But what do I know?

We have watched 2 preseason games that IMO game 1 it appeared the prospects Nylander, Saarela and Kubalick boqvist appeared to stand out.

I know it's early , however right now the hawks look out of sync , I expect more from murphy and dalstrom , in both games the defense wasn't supported by the forwards and the defenseman didn't move the puck out of the zone. It looked like last year with them being pinned in their end always.

Jc system isn't impressive right now ,, can that change sure however Chicago needs to start the season on a winning note to gain confidence and their season could be lost in the first month if JC doesn't implement and get these players to play it..

SMITH I thought played a good game .

This is how I see Chicago's lineup come opening night

Nylander Toews Kane
Cat Strome Kubalick
Saad Dach Shaw
Smith Carpenter kampf
Drake

Keith Gus
Calvin Murphy
Maatta Koekkoek
Seabrook

I am sitting tight for a PTO invite from the Leafs. Dubas knows I will play for minimum wage and I know he needs cheapies like me. All I want as a perk is some old posters of Dave Keon and Bobby Baun for my family room. Dubas never heard of those guys but he agreed anyway.
