The more I see Dahlstrom - I more I don't like him. He has a difficult time handling the puck along the boards so he gets pinned along the boards a lot and when that happens he might as well just hand the puck to the opposing player because he doesn't have the hand/eye coordination to win the puck. Koekkoek is no prize but if I had to pick between Dahlstrom and Koekkoek for 7th d-man - Koekkoek is the easy pick for me.

Special K is just as bad with the added bonus of taking a skate every so often.

I’ll be shocked if Kampf isn’t on the opening night roster.

Erik Karlsson comparisons offensively aren't too far-fetched with Boquist. Give him a Defense-First partner and let him play his game...creating goals. The goal last night was insane skill...he batted the puck out of the air 2-3 times to corral the puck then sniped far side high on the wrap-around.

I don’t like using the term because it is outside my age zone, but the goal was sick!

Shaw's definitely back, the good, the bad, and the ugly

Love him standing up for Kitty, tho

It was actually Dinky coming in to stick up for Shaw.

Yeah, I deleted. Looked down to have a bite of dinner and misread the outcome. Guess I shouldn't assume.

Some early writing off Wedin. Not that he deserved it?, but likely posters find rationale to cut him because someone has to be cut and who the heck is Wedin anyway.

Well i noticed that he had 4 hits on the game one stat sheet. Hmmm.......

Please no Kampf at 3C. We have other options.

If not Dach then Shaw

I think we have enough options on the wing for Shaw to play C

Right now with Dach being a big question mark because of the concussion I think this is a solid basis for the forward lines:

Caggiula-Toews-Kane
DeBrincat-Strome-Nylander/Kubalik
Saad-Shaw-Nylander/Kubalik
Carpenter-Kampf-Smith
Perlini

I’m hoping however that Dach eventually joins the lineup at C, allowing Shaw to play wing and strengthening the overall depth:

Saad-Toews-Shaw
Kubalik-Dach-Kane
DeBrincat-Strome-Nylander
Caggiula-Kampf-Smith
Carpenter/Perlini

I also would prefer Boqvist to get a look, perhaps he can fill in for Seabrook if Seabrook can’t improve:

Keith-Boqvist
de Haan-Gustafsson
Maatta-Murphy
Seabrook, Koekkoek

I’d pick Holm at this point!
- walleyeb1

Holm looked pretty good tonight. He played the Gustafsson role on the PP and was very good at retrieving and keeping the puck in - not to mention his goal and assist. I didn't get a good feel for how he did in the d-zone but definitely a guy worth keeping an eye on.
