Only took a lil over a period for hawks to be physically dominated. We even have our lil bit of toughness in the lineup.
But after Mcclrath lays out a hawk the redwings start taking some good runs out there. At least for the preseason get a big guy who will throw down and keep others honest.
If we didnt have seabs mcclrath would be a ideal 6th 7th dman. I dont think he could play forward though. Just few picking with tough guys man I miss real old time hockey. Preseason use to be cant miss.

Not as long as Smith is around. Lehner has potential, too.

Not a great goal, but a couple great saves before the goal.

Shaw with the forecheck, Strome with the vision, and Holm with the snipe.

I’m thinking Holm might be a sleeper that we missed.

Erik Karlsson comparisons offensively aren't too far-fetched with Boquist. Give him a Defense-First partner and let him play his game...creating goals. The goal last night was insane skill...he batted the puck out of the air 2-3 times to corral the puck then sniped far side high on the wrap-around.

I think beaudin would compliment him. Beaudin has looked pretty solid defensively.

funny how #8 Kubalik plays left wing, but then when he is left out there with the cat and Strome, he scores when he drifts to slot on right wing side...

I completely agree with you. His first one timer in period 1 looked like cat shooting .

Glad to see him get rewarded.

Early on in his defensive end, he got rag dolled; I don't know if it was the small ice surface and misjudging bt he seemed ripe for the picking more than once...but I have a free: that last first team pp looked like NHL players with 8 & 48 on the points...

He played 63 AHL games 42 with the Comets 21 with the Wolves during the 2017/18 season before heading back to the KHL.

The more I see Dahlstrom - I more I don't like him. He has a difficult time handling the puck along the boards so he gets pinned along the boards a lot and when that happens he might as well just hand the puck to the opposing player because he doesn't have the hand/eye coordination to win the puck. Koekkoek is no prize but if I had to pick between Dahlstrom and Koekkoek for 7th d-man - Koekkoek is the easy pick for me.

I think he just struck out 8 in a row. But is almost at 60 pitches so Joe has to pull him to get the bullpen involved

I would take Gilbert over either one of these two. He was +2 last night with Boqvist.
- FourOrr

Boqvist was WHY he was a plus 2
