Oh absolutely. I thought Rust was very marginal. A.Johnson our best forward. Blueger showed some wheels and good face off skills in OT. ZAR “suddenly decided” to skate faster in OT as well.

Not sure if this was covered earlier, but why play JJ over POJ? You already know what you get from JJ...say it with me...junk. But POJ is that shiny new toy and they left it in it’s box. If you are punishing JJ then let Rad Chad sit.

Now I know it was only the 1st game of preseason and most of those guys will not be playing in NHL this season, or some of them never ever, but to be out shot, out chanced and lose in OT felt very familiar....

I don’t know what to think of the trade yet but Fitzpatrick is a stud second year DB who’s only 22, so we basically traded the first for a guy you hope to draft with a first rounder. At 22 Fitzpatrick is a guy who can be part of a rebuild and I like the idea of the defensive core of Watt, Bush, and Fitzpatrick. That being said, this year could be an absolute disaster and that pick could end up being Justin Herbert. A franchise QB is a lot more important than a star DB, so how I view this trade is 100% dependent on who’s available in the draft when that pick is up.
