Patrik Laine is heading to Switzerland. Going to train with SC Bern for a while. - VANTEL
For me Laine comes off as a flake |

Jake Kielly's also on the ice, and DiPietro was in the first group - so that's different.
Yesterday, it was Bachman and MacIntyre in the second half of the scrimmage. Looks like we'll see the next gen kids today which is interesting.
Seems like the feeling is that one roster spot in Utica will go to Bachman and it'll be a battle for the other between Kielly and DiPietro. Loser will see lots of rubber and lots of ice time in Kalamazoo. |

Coach Sullivan on Gudbranson: "We've really liked what he's brought to our team since he got here. He's a character kid. He's fun to be around. He brings a lot of swagger to our locker room. Being at training camp and starting the season with this group will only help him." |

Eriksson Gaudette Leivo could be the Comets new top line

Hey, we liked you yesterday but it doesn't mean we have to like you today

Boy, that was classic Quinn Hughes.
Rushes the puck out of the zone, chips it up to Jake, then goes into the corner at the far end to retrieve the dump-in by Virtanen. Then gets back onto his point.
Nothing came of it, but he covered a lot of real estate in a short amount of time. |

Now a nice give n' go between Rafferty and Goldy results in a good chance for Goldobin.
Markstrom makes the save...
Then Loui Eriksson puts Blue up 1-0 on the next rush.
The Blue team has the early jump today after white dominated yesterday. |

Juolevi's stick breaks, leading to extended zone pressure for the blue team.
Keppen eventually hands his off. As he sneaks to the bench to change, the puck is cleared. |

Aah, apparently he finished the play. I thought Loui got the goal, my bad.

When it doubt, definitely trust Brendan Batchelor. He does this for a living!

Nice zone entry from Kole Lind, but Biega breaks up his attempted feed to Jasek, who was in front of the net. |

Goldy is skating really well today. Looks very engaged! |

Off a turnover, Keppen tries to go one-on-one with Quinn Hughes. No dice. |

Tanev successfully angles Petey to the corner after he drove into the low slot after a loose puck. |

There's the buzzer.
A nice round of applause as Period 1 comes to an end, with Team Blue up 2-0.
Demko's warmup was a success, as he stopped every shot he faced, but he didn't have a lot of work.
I wonder if Team Blue is fired up after losing yesterday, or if the fresh team has the advantage in these scrimmages. Yesterday, Blue played after taking the early training session; today it's White.
Really interested to see how the young goalies stack up in this second period. DiPietro just did an Eddie Belfour-esque full backbend to loosen up before the puck was dropped for Period 2. |

Schaller just collided with somebody as he tried to cross into the offensive zone. Went down but looks fine as he gets up covered in snow. |
