Good pace to this session.
Travis has the group doing hard skates with several quick about-faces in between the technical drills. |

Nice individual effort by Petey to score at one end, then he hustles back to break up the play at the other end of the ice... |

Petey is ridiculously good. I've seen a ton of canuck games throught my years and I have never seen someone like him. Kid is a special talent |

Awkward collision between Biega & Ferland at centre ice, as both were skating backwards in different directions. Both got up and look like they're OK. |

Nifty backhand shelf goal from close range by Justin Bailey on Zane McIntyre.
Bailey has been getting good reviews this weekend. He's a big boy, too. |

Jacob Markstrom slams his stick on the ice in disgust after he gets beaten up high by Reid Boucher.
Everything I've seen so far suggests that Markstrom is laser focused this year. |

I've heard this A LOT from the goals that are getting scored. It is an easy place and favourite for most shooters I imagine but |

Seeing what the elite players can do vs the rest of the team just shows how not elite Van has been for so long and how good Jim Benning is at drafting. |

Bailey and Pearson take a few extra shots as the rest of the group goes to centre ice to stretch, and this session has come to an end. |

The market is a mess. - VanHockeyGuy
Not sure there has ever been a “market”. GMs always seem to base salary on their needs at the time. Over pay because there’s no better options available to them at that particular time. |

It's easy to say that all the players playing are obviously good and skilled, but even at this level, it's easy for fans to establish tiers for players. Petey is an average skater, but the passes and dangles and the way he sees the ice is just special to see. Horvat actually looked great as well. Both players were the driving forces for their team |

Both can be driving forces for their lines then. |

I dont think EP is just an average skater. He is pretty explosive and can edge his way through a crowd in a phone booth. He's an efficient skater as well which is important.
He's also improved his skating.

Sutter and pearson was a really nice surprise. Based off of today, I honestly wouldnt be surprised if we see
Ferland - Petey - boeser
Miller - horvat - goldy
Pearson - sutter - _______
Leivo - beagle - _______
Motte played ok. LE and gaudette werent bad together. Virtanen was a poop show today. Baertschi had a few nice steals but was just ok.
Edler - myers
Tanev - Hughes
Stecher- benn |

I maybe should have rephrased to speed. I would say he is an average at best for speed out there. Plenty of guys noticeably faster. He dangled miller and horvat in close for his goal, it was unreal. Edge work is fantastic. Hughes and stechers edgework and skating stood out too, they are really smooth skaters out there |

Stecher- benn - Codes1087 had not heard Leivo name mentioned through two days. I don't really want to see Virtanen go , he brings useful size that Van lacks from its star players.
I also don't really want Myers playing against other teams top lines. To me it's Edler Tanev and leave Myers and Hughes to feast on other teams worse lines.

Only thing that stood out was he stripped tanev and Hughes of the puck in some good plays. Wasnt super noticeable.
I really liked what keppen, perron, lind and focht brought. Thought they played really well. |

Myers and edler were beasts today. I was a bit of a myers skeptic for him playing against other teams best players, and I know its only scrimmage, but man him and edler handled their own zone with ease today, even against horvats line |
