You're paying over 20 million to pure crap that you can never trade. Good luck with that.

Leafs have no contracts they can't move. Bening has screwed you this summer.

Did Toronto even come close to equaling the value they sent away this summer?
A 4th plus bad contract for a goalie teams were paying 5th round picks for without the bad contract
Zaitsev and brown for Ceci and 3rd. A win for Ottawa.
Marleau and a 1st for a 6th.

Toronto might not have been raped in the Kadri Barrie trade.

lol. zaitsev had 5 years left on his contract. 5! do you understand how much cap relief they got from that deal. that was a horrible contract lou signed him to. that trade saved them 6.8 million yearly and honestly, zaitsev is really bad.

the barrie trade was brilliant. an elite pm rh D for 2.75 this year and kerfoot is 4 years younger, 1 million cheaper cheaper, signed longer than kadri, and had similar stats with less usage last season.

benning traded an unprotected 1st for a 3rd liner making 5.25 per during a rebuild. insane.

myers is a #4 d making more than rielly.

toronto had a fantastic summer.

Jim Benning traded a 1st for a avg 50 point a season player. Dubas traded a 1st to get rid of 6.75 million in salary.

I can't wait for Speeza and Petan to shut down other teams top lines.

But Leafs are contenders. Canucks have not made the playoffs. Notice Leafs only traded a 1st this past season?

Spezza at 700K is a fantastic signing. But please, keep giving Jay Beagle's 3 million per for 4 years on the 4th line.

Lou signed that Marleau deal. They had to do it. But you know what? Marner is locked-up. All their core is signed. Vancouver wasted all their cap and Boeser is still unsigned.

Wasn't Marner signing an offersheet, NYlander traded, and Marleau and Zaitsev could not be moved? Admit it, Leafs had a fantastic summer

Whatever Benning did or didn't do is irrelevant. Do you honestly believe what Dubas managed this summer made the team better? For the most part all he did was squeeze extra cap space (at a significant cost) to bring all the same guys back. The guys who dissolved like the tissue you cried into last spring. I like Kerfoot, but he's a shrimp, Reilly and Barrie are good, but beyond that they are still another season away from reinforcements. Benning might have shot his load early, but Dubas just got herpes, and that poop is for life.

Also for you Pom Pom waiving fan boys, I'm not defending Benning, he's still a boob.

Yes. 100%. He moved-out the weakest parts and added an elite PM RH D at a 2.75 cap hit. Leafs are faster and more talented.

That wasn't supposed to happen at all. You know what the doom and gloom predictions were for the Leafs this summer...

Spezza is 36 years old. Was a -13 in 13 minutes a game last season. 55% Ozone starts

Beagle soon to be 34. -8 in 13 minutes a night 18% ozone starts and generally playing against other teams top lines.

Please see 2016 where the Leafs traded a 1st for Fred Anderson and they had not been in the playoffs for 3 seasons.

The 1st they traded was Pittsburgh's. They had their own first higher in the draft. They traded it when they knew it was 30th overall.

Benning overpays for 3rd and 4th liners. And you can't trade those deals very easily. Leafs can move anyone.

The only way you look good in this discussion is by framing it as Dubas v Benning. If you take Benning out of the equation your entire argument is the Trojan rabbit. Empty and catapulting back at you.

All I heard was Marner was signing an offersheet, Marleau and Zaitsecv could never be moved, and Nylander was traded (Burke went on tv and guaranteed this) because Leafs were in "Cap Hell".
NONE of that happened. You really expected them to add a Tyson Barrie?

Who doesn't think Dubas did a great job? Do research. Find 1 media person who thinks he had a bad summer.

"Research"?

The media gobble at the tit of TMLSE. I like the additions of Barrie and Kerfoot, but the rest... where will the cap space come from next year to re-sign Barrie? You sound exactly like our own cap deniers.
