Brown with the empty netter to seal this important victory.

By the way, Gibson stood on his head, shutting out the Flyers for half the game. Seriously, he looked pretty good.

He did look good......nice save on JVR at the end. First "game" so its really about finding their legs, but man there were a few horrific passes up the middle in their own zone.

Yeah, I mean the first pre-season game is about as meaningless as it gets, but it was still nice to see Gibson and the boys get off on the right foot. And yes, there was plenty of sloppy play that needs to be cleaned up before the regular season starts.

I didn't notice him particularly, but I was multi-tasking and easily could have missed him making a great or terrible play. Ask 7.

Was actually at the game. Nobody stood up except Gibson. Sloppy game. Flyers were taking bad penalties left and right.

I mean it was basically everyone's first preseason game, I think it would be weird if they weren't sloppy.

That said, Koivula is definitely making a case that he's a real good prospect. They had him out there against the JvR-Hayes-Voracek line all night and he didn't look out of place.

He looked good, could be a home grown 3c next year. Hes on pace to be that and has great size and more than likely is why they picked up brassard on a one year deal

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XqnEqQbxflQ Here are the highlights. I thought both Goalies played very well. the guy who had the most "wow" moment for me was JHS. I know.. I know... but man that kid has vision and can really friggin pass. They have a few of his passes on this highlight real.

Beauv did not have a great start to say the least. missed a few glorious opportunities.

going tonight .. anyone else?

Given the fact that the "summer of the offer sheet" has been about as active as every season's "very active trade deadline", no. No I don't.

Just my own personal (and wholly unrealistic) opinion here: I'd just throw 5 years @ $10.5M per at Brayden Point. That's almost twice the AAV that TB reportedly offered him. Two 1sts, a 2nd, and a 3rd would be well worth it.

Move whoever they'd have to move to make the room first and then swing for the fences. He wants to stay in TB but the hope would be that it's just too much money for him to say no to and the chances of TB being able to match that are a fraction of a percent.
