It'll be interesting to see where they'll come up with the 10 million Barrie will commend next year...

This is the early Dubas version of what Jarmo did last year in CLB, in the simple sense of going “all in”. The big difference, CLB has the money after a failed attempt. Toronto will be strapped for the next 5 years. Can’t pay 4 guys 40M and expect the rest of the team to play for food stamps. Good luck fellas, this is a VERY expensive experiment in top loading a roster, and comes with a tag of “Stanley cup or bust”... the latter being where the smart money is at!
Side note: Nylander should be traded now while there’s uncertainty. If he pulls another dud season, you’re seriously stuck with that boy and his unnecessarily large contract. Maybe Seattle will take him if you include.... Matthews. Lol |

It's nothing like Columbus. The Leafs have their core locked in for multiple years. |

I agree. The Leafs need to stop paying for star talent so they can overpay for twice as many mediocre players. |

So what you're saying is the leafs 2nd pairing 2nd pp qb is a 10 million defenseman on top of their top 10 goalie and top 4 offenses. (frank) it sucks to be a leafs fan these days. To many good young players. How will they ever be able to afford all of these good young players. |

I love the salty tears of all these other fan bases who poop on the leafs for yeara. Leafs have a top 10 goalie, a 6'4 1st like center who happens to be the best goal scorer in the league 5v5, a Norris trophy candidate defenseman and the 5th highest scoring winger in the league. Not to mention the 3rd leading goal scorer in the whole league as their second line center and a ton of depth up front. Terrible time to be a leafs fan I must say.but but but the leafs lost in the first round last year. Because last year matters in the slightest to what I get it on watch this year. |

Leafs managed to give their two young stars who arent even close to their prime an 8 million dollar raise and still improve their team. Their forward depth is better this year, their d are better and their goaltending is better. |

Like there's anything you can say about the past that will make the leafs a worst team this season. Leafs are a favorite to win the cup and will be for the next 5 seasons. Their best players are all moving into their prime while Dubas is able to surround them with more depth than before. Will they win the cup? Who knows. Alot of things have to go right but as of today they have as good of chance as any and they have a much larger window than any of the current top teams. You guys need to get used to the leafs winning a lot of games because you have about a decade of them near the top of the league |

But how much does it suck that the leafs of all people have a way better and younger team than your favorite team? |
