I can't think of many 21 year olds who scored 94 points who fell off a cliff the rest of their career.

Well, I don’t hate any of these guys, but would be nice if some of them took a team friendly deal??? Really only Tavares has done so. Could have made more as a UFA but took less to sign here... These young guys are just sucking every last penny they can. 10.8 MILLION USD Per! I am sorry, that is too much. Mitch is good, but there are plenty of better players making less money on other teams. Why does it seem all our signings are on the upper limit of the expected salary? No deals for T.O...

Capfriendly has too many guys on their list because it's training camp.

Ben Harpur, for example, is listed as one of the 8 D. He's terrible and he makes the most out of all the filler defense. He should be gone. That's 725K saved.

They also have 13 forwards so if they send down Petan, Shore or Agostino, that's another 725K to 775K saved.

1.5 million, plus 10.5 from the Horton and Clarkson LTIR, that's 12 million total.

Plus the Dermott and Hyman LTIR savings, which are harder to calculate because we don't know how much time they will miss.

Definitely going to be a tightrope all season long. Luckily, the Marlies are down the road so calling guys up and sending them down will be quick and easy.

- JohnFergusonJr

I think they can also have a reduced roster at times. I expect they will be playing cap games all year.

Is marmite similar to Vegemite? If so, then good job.

Any of marner,Matthews or Tavares going down with a injury for ant amount of time will open space pretty quick.

We had an Australian exchange student living with my family when I was younger. She loved Vegemite. I found even the smell to be repulsive.

They should send everyone who is waiver exempt down to the Marlies in between every game. By the end of the season, that's gotta save some serious cap space.

That guy has a filthy mouth. Funny too. Says a friend suggested he try Vegemite. "A real human being, not a monster that wants to see me suffer. I assume it's going to taste like mice poop."
