In addition: David Quinn said Pavel Buchnevich enters camp as the Rangers 1st line RW with Mika Zibanejad at C and Artemi Panarin at LW. He said Filip Chytil and Lias Andersson are both centers for now. Ryan Strome likely to start on wing. That’s the way the coach sees it now. Could change - airjan23
I actually like this. Don't throw Kakko and Kravs into the fire right away. I would have liked KZB kept together, but Panarin might really click with Buch. |

I think we see Kreider-Chytil-Kakko on the second line. Third could be Strome-Howden/Namestnikov-Kravtsov and fourth of Lemieux-Anderson/Howden-Fast. |

When you lay it out like that... we actually do have too many wingers for the top 6!
I hate to say it, but I would love to see something like Kreids, Stinky and a non-1st round pick for 2020 for a good 2C.
That and a skin rash for Marc are just about all we need!! |

This is where I wish Slim was lurking so he can back me in that we were team RNH. They probably wouldn't take Names back, but Kreider and something small might get it done and you'd still be cap compliant. |

I think giving Andersson, Chytil and Howden a shot to win the 2C job is the best thing to do
can always make a trade later if they aren't happy with any of them |

I get that it isn't a terrible plan. My concern is that you throw one of these guys into the fire before they are ready (like Howden last year) and you could sort of damage them.
We probably aren't making any trades like that before opening night, so we will just wait and see. |

I hope he is. The big advantage of him is that now he has a full season under his belt. Hopefully putting Kreider there gives him a stabilizing presence. |

Kreider gone at the TDL - mdw7413
I mean Kreider was never going to play over Panirin as a LW. I think he suits best as a 2nd liner anyway. Him and Kakko are going to explode together. |

It was a joke to see if you were still lurking Yeah there was no way they were going to start Panarin on the 2nd line. |

I thought you were exploding together with Kreider? You should go to camp, and get a 45 jersey with COCKO on the back. |

So Marner finally signs with Toronto on a decent contract. How does Tampa now sign Point? Even with the tax advantage that Florida enjoys, does anyone think Point takes $3 mill less per year? WOOF!
This is going to be very interesting.... |

I like this
Panarin-Zibanejad-Buchnevich
Kravtsov-Chytil-Kakko
Kreider-Andersson-Strome
Lemieux-Howden-Fast
Namestnikov-Nieves
the kids playing together on the 2nd line would be a lot of fun and it's amazing just how big that line would be too

from NY Post last night
Quinn also made it clear that Filip Chytil, 20, is going to get the opportunity to be the second-line center after switching between the middle and wing during his rookie campaign. Lias Andersson, the No. 7-overall pick from 2017, will also get a look at his natural center position, as will Brett Howden. That leaves Ryan Strome more as a roamer. |

1st yr & rooks are being given an opening of camp type optimism?
Chytl Lias ,working as potential #2 center ,thats fine but wont fly in reg. season
a 2nd line of Chtyl Kakko Kravtov ... now i want what that guys is smoking /drinking .... wouldnt last 2 periods of a game ...
Get real : i am surprised Buchny gets nod on 1st line w/Mika & Panarin
Krieds is the right guy BUT it shows hes not getting the shot to play 1st line anymore
hes going when they can pkg him & Georgiev ,either Names or strome and a pick or prospect ? Adam Henrique comes to mind ,nice strong 2 c center ?
may not cost as much as outlined ,cap comfy ? I R N H but as an option ...
we tend to inflate the rooks & 1st yr vets like they will all turn into gems immediatly
no grow pains like we saw last yr ,no lean times of production.. if we get the 2nd center we can compete & make P O's
line up should be made to help grow & protect not over expose
this lineup shows the hole at #2 ,no one we have is a proven #2
why keep HANK if not going for center to secure ,Zbad is exposed ,if he aint in the
drop off is significant , center is the most important position in hockey ,gotta protect our kids and fill that slot ..2 C
Z bad panarin Buchny.... i would use Kreid but 2nd line need s his vet game
Chtyl krieder Kakko.... i d k chytl better have learned both ends of ice
Howden Kravstov Names /Strome ..... Howden grows with a Kravstov, May need Fast to play with them
Boo/Lias Lemeuix, Fast : not bad will see |

This is what will determine how the season goes, and how long it will take for NYR to become a threat to make playoffs

they used the 7th and 21st overall picks in the 2017 draft and traded Ryan McDonagh for the other
they've got to give Chytil, Andersson and Howden a chance down the middle considering how much they invested in them
I'm looking for somebody ultimately better than RNH |

Not inconceivable that one of those three is our future guy. I'd also like to see Strome get a shot to prove his numbers weren't an an aberration.
So much player turnover this summer that this almost seems like a whole new team.
So stoked! |

I think Strome does end up getting a signifcant opportunity to prove himself again because they will be looking for a right handed shooter on the 2nd and 3rd lines
Kreider, Chytil, Kravtsov, Kappo, Andersson, Namestiknov, Howden, Lemieux, Nieves all left handed shots, so the two righties Strome and Fast will get their shot
I always thought that was one of the reasons they forced Fast into too many offensive situations he isn't skilled enough for was that they were desperately looking for a right handed shot
overall, they added major right handed shots over the summer in Panarin and Trouba (and Fox) so it shouldn't nearly be as much of an issue as in the past. |

Bruins and RFA McAvoy are reportedly close on a deal. This may have a negative impact on our negotiations with D'Angelo. Lets hope Charlie's number isn't too high.... |
