TK has the same number of even strength goals over the past two seasons as Crosby and Pastrnak. And one more than Panarin. Soooo give him some money and lock him up. Plus he’s a spark plug type player. [/img]

Good thing for TK that Clarkie isn’t the GM anymore or he’d find himself traded to Arizona or something.

Devils must be kicking themselves they took Hischier. Yolk on their brows.
- PLindbergh31

Yea, why should they take Patrice!?!? Hisch was ahead on every scout report. 🤡

5 x $5m seems fair to me.

People are acting like Provorov took some kind of hometown discount. He was awful last year. He's never going to be an offensive dynamo, nor will he be a total lockdown guy.
- PLindbergh31

Let's be honest he wasn't horrible. It's just relative that he took a step back from his stellar 17-18 season. The kid has all the tools and will be fine and in a few years this deal will be seen as a bargain.

rumor has it the Flyers are negotiating from the idea they should pay based on his TOI. His agent is negotiating based on his production. Who do you suppose is fair in that scenario?
- bodiva88

Interesting fact about his production. TK has more ES goals than Panarin over the past 2 years.

I don’t see an opportunity for provorov to be making significantly more than that deal in the near future. Ghost, sanheim, and very likely Myers are all better pp point options. There’s only so much money a 30-35 point dman can command no matter how good he is defensively
- Just5

That's the point. Almost all of his production comes at ES. While producing on the PP is important, producing at 5v5 is more important. Take away numbers from Ghost and Sanheim's PP production and compare them to Provorov's.

Well with the injuries nd holdouts, the top prospects will surely get enough prime time to make a move into the lineup. frosty, farabee, G(hard g)er-MAN, lets see what you guys got!

Yea! This deal can be Flyers best since WW2.

It's also kind of weird that everyone is saying Provorov will never be an outstanding offensive dynamo. He was a huge scorer in juniors. Sure Gostisbehere is a pure offensive defenseman and Sanheim looks to have amazing offensive upside as well but Provorov is no slouch.

So do Eric Staal ($3.25M), Viktor Arvidsson ($4.25M), and Sean Couturier ($4.33M). I'd be fine signing him to any of these cap hits.

It isnt about the points he is a workhorse. Yes he gets 30-40 points but you have to understand he does that at EVSTR. He doesn't get PP time like Ghost. Provorov plays an average of 25 mins a game. He will eventually earn more.

In his second season, he tied for most goals in the league by a defenseman despite getting almost no PP time.

Yeah, dude's an offensive black hole.

Provorov generates good offense at ES for a Dman so he sucks. TK generates good offense at ES so he’s awesome. Yup, Flyersbuzz at its best.

All kidding aside, Konecny is a good player, I think we can all see that. Lock him up for 5 or 6 years at 5.5 million or so and get him in camp.

You don't remember all those Flyer fans screaming from the rooftops that the Devils would regret taking Hischier? I'm pretty sure they were on the same buildings in New Jersey where Trump saw American musilms celebrating the World Trade Center being destroyed.

I think he will be a solid ES point producer and is capable of scoring double digit goal totals every year. He also has a chance to be a top shut down defender along with being able to provide that offense and move the puck well,

It wasn't a gross overpay, at least. I was kinda scared they'd cave and give him the Doughty contract.

At it stands, he needs to improve (a lot) more to even justify this deal.

That’s why he spent 6 months with the phantoms, and barely played last season.
