Fergy sent a link ...Athanasiou ...and Josh Anderson were two. Basically he has 5 NHL clients. Mitch is the 5th ...the other 4 all followed a distinct script. Hold hard then cave at or just after the deadline. |

And?
He has an agent, that's what he's being paid for. His father should have nothing to say about it. Sounds like his father is feeding him terrible infomation ie the nonsense about being made whole from missed elc bonuses and all that bullpoop.
And he's 22. - burn
And who do you think raised him? Brought him to every practice? Bought all his gear and paid for his registration?
If you people think he's going to make this decision without his parents, you're insane. |

Paul should have NO control. I'd tell my dad to sit down and shut up, it's my career not his, pretty simple really
He knows damn well he will be living happy the rest of his life regardless. - LeafGuy89
You seem the way that Paul talked to him when he was 12? There may be a power-parent/child dynamic there that we're not exposed to... |

I think that Andreas anthiousou or however you spell it was one. Correct me if I'm wrong but he held out and went to Europe at the start of a season... then caved and came back - Bleedz_Blue

There is a difference between making decisions with parents and letting them run your career.
Agents know the cba, they know how to negotiate. Parents emotional. Players are best to let their agents handle the work. |

He needs to take control of his life. Meddling parents can sometimes be more about themselves than about their child. Ask jack Johnson.
At 22 years old you dont need your parents to tell you that 11 million a year over 7 years to play hockey is an amazing situation and ranks you along the highest paid in the league.
But you're right..he needs his parents to remind him how awful his life would be if he signs that contract. |

Well, Josh Anderson isn't the smallest of potatoes...
yeah, following a certain script could be great - as long as your opponent doesn't know about it. I strongly doubt this agent is that kinda simple-minded

How old are you ?
Yes, your parents can help you with a decision but at his age he’s on his own. If his father is guilting him into listening to him he’s a pretty bad father.
Every parent makes sacrifices and you don’t ask for anything in return. |

3 years 8m AAV, 10.5M salary final season. Something like that, get it done.
It’s more than fair IMO |

If he turned down 11 million for 7 years, I dont need to know the details just the bottom line.
Then again you're the twat who acts like he knows everything so this just got rather ironic. |

I just finished saying he should be listening to his agent and you argued he should be listening to his parents cause he's 20 (no he's 22 actually) and they paid for his hockey and raised him...... Then you turn around and say doesn't he have an agent.

If he turned down 11 mil for 7 or 8 years he's getting horrendous advice and it doesn't matter who it's coming from. |

This place - burn imagine how disingenuous of a parent you have to be to hold over your son’s head all of the sacrifices you made, both financially and time wise, in order for his dream to come true.
Not saying this is happening, just rumors, but still |
