He reported that Malkin denied the trade, which was made obvious by the quotation. then he speculated that he didn't want to play with him ever again, which was made obvious by the lack of quotes. What is so confusing about that. It was creatively written, but not incorrectly.
Sullivan has never said that he doesn't like Kessel, but you don't need a quote to know that he does.
deceptive as it may be, id rather read that, than some other dippoop telling me that Derrick Poulliot came to camp in the best shape of his life and looking hungrier to play than ever, for 4 straight years. - joecool2931
Are you genuinely stupid? You realize speculation isn't what a journalist is professionally allowed to do. They either report through sources or facts or write an op ed. This was not an op ed and Rossi used his article to deceptively show a narrative where Malkin stated he did not want to play with Kessel, despite not have a shred of evidence to show for it. Frank off moron. |

Imagine defending Rossi - Feds91Stammer
I am not defending him, I am saying read what was written. And don't blame Rossi because you clicked on a twitter link quote retweeted the article and said "MALKIN DID NOT WANT TO PLAY WITH KESSEL ANYMORE". because they wanted interactions |

Rossi doesn't care about facts, if it makes the story better, it's going in the article. |

He wrote it, didnt't he? so someone might say...he was allowed to. Where is Geno's outrage over such an egregious lie? You'd think he would want to smear Rossi's name for writing something so erroneous. |

A bit off topic, but anytime I hear a player is showing up in the best shape of his life or career I already know they’re going to have a bad season. - Rinosaur

Just because he published an unsubstantiated claim, doesn't mean he is allowed to do so. Do you think publishers fact check every claim before print? No, they don't. Journalistic integrity is supposed to guide a writer to stick to fact and reporting. Not come up with their own made up beliefs on how someone else feels. |

Good journalism is largely dead. The Rossi piece is just another example. It's a mix of "fact" and "opinion". There used to be defined rolls where a readers knew exactly what they were consuming. Today, opinion is constantly reported as factual. If the New York Times does it (daily), you can sure as hell bet a clown like Rossi will do it.
Like I said....He's a sensationalist not a reporter. |

Dude, blow me with Journalistic integrity lul. If he wasn't allowed to publish it, it wouldn't have gotten published. and if it was so erroneous, geno would be vehemently denying it.

In fairness to Joecool and even Rossi, I feel that article is fairly easy to decipher. It's pretty clear where he's using opinion and where he's using his "sources". Here's my problem... Who's his sources? If a reporter such as Molinari writes something like that, I'm taking it to the bank his sources are rock solid. A guy like Rossi burned the credibility bridge a long time ago. That's why I'm pretty dubious about the boldest claims in the piece. |

The defined roles seem to be if it's a beat writer, it's mostly facts, if it's a columnist, they'll throw in speculation behind unknown sources that gets people talking.
Other than Yohe, I don't really trust any of the Pittsburgh media. They're either too new, or have proven they'll stretch the truth. |
