I am thinking the same thing. How do you pay a player twice. I could see a lot of mid range buyouts and probably brought for less money.
I just bought out Baertschi's last year and 1.7

If this is now allowed, it definitely opens up a lot of possibilities. Especially if the player is attached to the city/team he's playing for and doesn't want to be bought out and let go, or traded. Basically like restructuring a contract, the NFL does it all the time. |

Today a promising young career was cut short, as 20-year old defenseman Zachary Lauzon has announced his retirement through a piece by Mikael Lalancette of TVA Sports. The former Pittsburgh Penguins prospect was not offered a contract from the team this summer after dealing with post-concussion symptoms for two years, but did receive an invitation to their rookie camp. Unfortunately, Lauzon’s headaches and dizziness returned, leading to his decision to end his hockey career.

Which is why players should be maxing out what they can get paid while they can get paid. |

Ahhh, got it, Jovo’s opinions are believed when they fit your specific narrative, but when his opinion is about what he believes Boeser should be paid he is meaningless.
 - Makita
Seemed pretty on point. He was talking about how many goals he's scored, how that's rare and what that type of player usually gets. Players wanting to get paid what their worth is selfish of them. |

It's really bizarre to me that people don't get this, massive risk every day you play the sport. For sure at some point you've made enough, but for most guys like say.... guys getting their first big contract. might want to shoot for the stars just in case. |

Do you crunch #’s or just stop at totals & ignore context? Maybe Reuby & his childhood friends can teach you about stats. Laine & Boeser are also stylistically comparable w/ similar weaknesses. - DrChristianTroy
I think Retinalz is unreachable.
But I do agree with your comparison. |

Well I guess that answers my question about who attended the picnic this year. |

Well I know what side you are on.
I'm quite on the opposite side. If you don't want to play it for a career, I don't see why you need to be compensated for life. |

To clear up any confusion, there is nothing in the CBA to prevent a move like this directly. Only compliance buyouts included a provision that made a player unable to re-sign with his team for one year. This could however be investigated by the league for cap circumvention if they believe it was intentional, as they did in the case of Brooks Orpik last summer. |

Horvat showing why he is the captain, he stopped short of calling Brock out but also sent a pretty clear message of the benefits of being at camp. |

Former Canadiens forward Brandon Prust and his wife, Quebec television personality and model Maripier Morin, are splitting up.
Prust and Morin both announced an end to their relationship on Instagram Saturday. They had been together for 10 years and became one of the most famous celebrity couples in Montreal. |

Canucks can not put anyone else on Buyout this year . I believe they have to wait until next year now. They don't have a second buyout seeing they didn't have anyone on arbitration rights. I think that is the situation. Next year yes |

slow news day?
So seems that Brock will miss training camp.
That sucks and I didn't see that coming tbh.
Every day his misses of camp will push people towards the trade Brock camp.

Yeah saw that coming when he showed up early to practice with Beagle. He's getting ready for 4th line and PK duty. Looks like Motte will be getting waived instead. |
