It's Risto, Okposo and a 2nd for Foligno and Wennberg

Wennberg is cheaper, younger than Okposo

Also, look at the buyout numbers:

https://www.capfriendly.c...lexander-wennberg#results

It's a cap hit of $400k a year

Not savings, the cap hit is 400k

So we’re moving risto for scraps and a Center who sucks and a player that is going to be 32 just to move Kyle

Yeah.

Risto and a 2nd for Foligno and $5.5m in cap savings (the difference between Okposo's salary and a Wennberg buyout, should Wennberg continue to suck)

Foligno also would come off the books right when Dahlin's contract kicks in. That year, as is, we'd still be spending $11.4m on Okposo and Risto.

Or just an $800k penalty for a Wennberg buyout under this scenario

Botts has a plan that I believe he is not wavering or deviating from.

I trust Botts 100% more than I ever trusted Murray.

In Botts I trust.

Foligno is still a very useful player. 31 even strength points with 61% d zone starts

I'd do it.

2019/2020 cap hit, Risto + Okposo vs Wennberg and Foligno, 5.4+6.0 vs 4.9+5.5, save 1.0 mil in cap space
2020/2021 same, save 1.0 mil
2021/2022 Foligno is off the books, sabres save 6.5 mil
2022/2023 Risto is off the books sabres save 1.1 mil
2023/2024 all contracts over

That's 9.6 million in cap savings over 4 years. Foligno is better than Okposo, and wennberg is basically another Rodrigues in that he's a 3C/4C. He's also huge insurance in case one of my centers gets hurt.

Add in that Foligno probably plays 2nd or 3rd line and pushes sheary down to a fourth line role, and that Joker probably fills risto's spot and is better, this trade is a good proposal.

Exactly.

Foligno is still useful (worth a 2nd rounder), and a Wennberg buyout is eons better than Okposo. If the cost of getting rid of Okposo is Risto, I'd do that deal all day

Saving almost $10m in 2 years

If anyone knows what his value is right now, it sure as hell isn't me.

I would love to hear the offers being made

Lets add another 3rd and 4th liner ..... seems smart. Both foligno sons can stay away.

What does it say about Ristolainen if the Ducks would only trade Kase for Ristolainen if Buffalo also took Kesler's contract, and for Faulk, they like him enough to do a 1 for 1 trade?

Faulk is slightly better

But Risto is 4 years younger and Faulk needs a new deal.

I can’t imagine Faulk has more trade value

Wouldn't that be lovely. Can't imagine anything substantial has been sent our way or he'd be gone. Maybe you're right. Would love to be a fly on the wall for a few of those calls though.
