Meier's contract sucks imo

The final year

- classic321

He's probably going to get 10 plus by that time anyways. As long as he doesn't regress.

I think so, i'm hearing 5 years a lot.
- VanHockeyGuy

Werenski at 5m/3years shows that would be Brocks value IMO.

Leave it to JB to (frank) up Columbus' contract situation...or whatever, somehow the Bitter Bros will turn it into JB's incompetence...

My wife just sent me a video. The 10 month old has "the book" and is ripping pages out. She doesn't like my work or your predictions I guess.

The Werenski contract is really interesting. He can essentially walk himself directly to UFA by accepting his $7M qualifying offer for year 4. This is essentially a 3 year $15M contract with a player option to turn it into a 4-year $22M contract.

Speaking of Canucks and Comets.

Looks like everyone Benning, Green, Cull are all on the same page.

Everyone except Palmu, Tryamkin and the departed Dahlen. The entitled trio.

3 year deal. 4 year would put him straight to UFA would it not?

Brock is still rfa
In a 4yr deal didn't play enough games the first year

I don't mind the shorter term deals (3, 4, 5 years taking a player to UFA), provided that the team is ready and willing to trade the player before or during the final year of the contract. Avoid the ultra-expensive third contracts unless it's a top 5-10 player in the league.

That's a very Oakland A's approach to take though, the owner would have to be completely on board with that because the GM would take a lot of heat for trading away guys like Horvat and Boeser in a few years from now.

4 years would suck anyway, he could take accept his 1 year qualifying offer after that and have all the leverage during the next contract negations as a pending UFA.

Zero loyalty to players... yes this seems to be what teams that win have. Oh wait...

Should we be dreading the new BB contract?

lol

If a player wants a contract that will take him to UFA as quickly as possible, why should the team bend over backwards to keep him. You'll end up like the Islanders did.

Saw him play at a Royals/Rockets game season before last. The crowd loved him in Vic

“The most trash talk I probably hear is someone on Twitter,” he said. “Fans seem to love the last name. I’ve never really heard anything on the ice. No one says anything. From friends I’ve got a couple of nicknames that I’m not allowed to say.”

They seemed to have options and not fit the Canuck's systems play. Though JB is waiting on a Tryamkin return before end of season.

As long as it is divisive and sets the fanbase against each other, I'm fine.

9 years of service at a bargain basement price for a team that never delivered on on the promise to surround him woth talent and be competitive in the playoffs? Tavares for 9 years is plenty of loyalty, if the team doesnt go past the forst round it’s time to do you. He didn’t betray their loyalty whatsoever, that’s complete bullshyte
