Ok I never need to watch that movie again. That poop was so boring lol by far the worst Tarantino flick I’ve seen.

I enjoyed it yesterday. Not as good as the first one. Felt the the first one captured more of the book’s ethos and then the second one ignored the book and just tried to be a sequel to the first movie. It was good but nothing that I’d watch again.

The end of the original IT was one of the most disappointing ends ever. I thought the re do would’ve at least made up for that.

That’s what people who don’t evolve with the times say. It’s cool man. Hockey passed you up long ago.

Because I refuse to use some virgins website as my crutch for not understanding the game? It’s like you have all been struggling to keep up.

You talking about the 80s movie or the book? The 80s movie is so bad. It’s weird because it’s pretty faithful to the book and Tim Curry puts in a good performance, but for some reason it’s just bad.

But in general, as much as I love his writing, King has never been great at ending his stories. The ending of It goes off on a really weird tangent that doesn’t make a ton of sense unless you’re into The Dark Tower. My guess is that’s why both movie adaptations struggled with the ending, because they needed to adapt it in a way that was both faithful but actually made sense and didn’t introduce a last second major plot device.

The funny thing is, you don't understand the game. You're a dinosaur. A fan of hockey that was. The game has evolved and passed dinosaurs like you, and you're nothing but a bitter "hockey fan" because of it. It shows in every post, it's comical. Always whining about entitled this and entitled that, when you female dog and moan on here more than anyone.

It's what happens when you don't understand the game anymore and your opinion of good hockey is blocked shots and finishing your check after the puck has left the dude's tape.

Your referring to “ the game” but what you really mean is a small group of people that post on hockeybuzz that all drink the same Ryan Wilson kool aid. I was just told it’s unfortunate the nhl still thinks like me. Which is it? I know you would be hard pressed to find any competitive coach who looks down on blocking shots and finishing checks.

The issue is you put shot blocking and finishing checks as a primary ability over actual skills.

In other words you lack the hockey sense to understand the nuance of the game so you can only value what appears to be a guy working hard.

Found an interesting Pens tidbit while reading Dom a the Athletic's Isles preview. He said by adjusting his model from Corsi to expected Goals, the Isles 4th line (which is really their 3rd) graded out second best in the league.....behind the Pens. So we'll maybe have that going for us. Interested to see who he has on that line, might be different than what's assumed here.

And PS for Grinder, that's an advanced stats guy saying the Isles 4th line is really good.

Maybe it's nostalgia, but I love the original. Yeah, it's campy and has outdated effects, but I love it. The original IT scared the crap out of me as a kid.

I find it funny you mention the ending issues considering the topic they bring up with Bill in the second movie.

I agree overall with your sentiment of Chapter 2. It was good, had some very creepy moments, but overall it was ok. I think they overdid the CGI which a lot modern movies tend to do.

Oh that was 100% done on purpose and I laughed during that whole scene. SK is very self aware of the fact that his endings are sub par. He has said multiple times that he doesn’t know how to end his stories and it’s all about the journey. He wrote himself in as Bill when he wrote It and that whole thing about the ending sucking was one big inside joke with the readers

I did like the couple of nods to Tim Curry in this one. Not sure if you caught those.

It's been some time since I've seen the TV version and read the book. I don't recall that line from the John-boy version...My son and I had a great weekend. Went to see Slipknot Friday night. Then, on Saturday, watched IT chapter 1 as a refresher before taking in IT chapter 2 at the Alamo Drafthouse. I will say that the casting agent did a bang up job matching the adults and kids for these two movies.

Yeah the guy who can barely hit double digit points is a "real" hockey player. If you're not going to score, at least prevent the other team from scoring, which Gudbranson can't, considering he's a -89 at 5v5 over his career.

Dude has been a dogpoop hockey player for his entire career.

64 points in 467 games lol what a joke, a "real" hockey player he says, a real dogpoop hockey player.

His PP60 isn't far off of Brooks Orpiks, as well as his CF% and people considered Orpik a good hockey player. While Orpiks could have been inflated from playing with two pretty great teams. Yes, he is overpayed by probably about 1.5M but he can serve an important purpose at the right price.

Orpik has had two seasons where he has been a negative goal differential at 5v5. As I said in my post if you can’t score goals, at least prevent the other team from doing so. Orpik did that. Gudbranson did not. They are not the same.

You're also conveniently ignoring the hige QOT disparity in playing for PIT/WASH and FLA/VAN. Gudbranson has only had a PDO over 1.0 once, while Orpik has only had 1 season (NOT) over 1.0. Orpik had 2 seasons below 8% S%, Gud has never had a single season over 8.

Im not saying better, im saying comparable. Gud has only been put in a position to succeed for 19 games in his career, and to me in those 19 games, he has.

Gudbranson has been perfectly fine on a 3rd line role. If he only had a $2-2.5M salary..

Jacko Joe will need to surprise us all if he stays with the team. Would be awesome to se a 3-44 working well together but it's highly unlikely.
