Sounds like Addison and Marino got the most praise from everyone I could find that covered the game.

Addison could be Schultz's eventual replacement as the 2nd pair puck moving D, but how they bridge the gap to the two is going to be a pain because it's hard to project Addison there for the start of next year.

His PDO was .996, that had nothing to do with it. Unlike JJ's run with Pettersson, it wasn't luck driven, he actually played well. Whether or not he continues to do so especially if saddled with JJ, is fair to doubt based on his history though.

Pretty crazy Gardiner will be paid the same as Guds.. and pretty much in same ballpark as JJ...even crazier is that those two are on the same team being paid that.

Tanev is also being paid about the same...as a 4th liner. And as currently constructed, ZAR is eating nachos as the 13th forward and JJ is getting ~19 minutes a night. Terrible asset management. Gardiner didn't even get any NTCs.

Hockey Reference I think is just evens, but that's weird that they'd vary so much. At naturalstattrick, the team only had an one ice shooting percentage around 5, so maybe he was on the ice for a few empty netters?

Regardless, all Gudbranson's numbers were outstanding here, it wasn't a case of goals for propping up bad numbers elsewhere, so it's not just a PDO driven performance in this case: they controlled chances, particularly by having some of the lowest high danger chances against in the league.

Now he's not that good, though he certainly played his part competently. If you're looking for a reason his possession stats were so high beyond himself, I'd say lots of time with Pettersson and the Bjugstad line helped tremendously. But again, unlike JJ, he kept up with them instead of dragging that group back.
