Revisionist history. Before ROR was dealt he wasn't very good in the eyes of many Sabres fans just like Risto is now. Risto will probably be dealt sometime but I predict people will say Risto was good but he had attitude problems and didn't want to be here so good for him now that he is doing well in _________________ but we are better off without him.
- GilPerreault11

Maybe some.
I 'll be happy when he is moved.
He isn't the worst Dman, but some make him out to be unreplaceable...largely because he played big minutes (ineffectively on D) and scored 50% of his pts on the PP.
He is a 2nd and 3rd pairing tweeter, nothing more nothing less.

Now, if they could trade him for a solid 2C, like McDavid now that Gardiner isn't going to The Oil.

Now someone show me how much time he spends on the ice 5 on 5 vs PP

Edit:

I'll do it myself:

19:28 average even strength time per game
3:00 average power play time per game
2:10 average short handed time per game

- Stripes77

Put him on the 3rd pair with Jake, take away his Special Teams role, reduce the minutes to like 18:00. Let's see what happens.
I've resigned myself to him being here this year.

Sexton said he added 8 pounds of muscle working out over the summer. All while recovering from his thumb injury.

Edit:
Only 18 y/o and could already KO Gerbe in less than a minute.

Incarcerated Bob said Brown was getting suspended then released.

Just for those of you who prop this clown up.

I mean he also had both Subban trades (Nashville, and Devils) a few days before it happened, Gusev trade, Panarin to Rangers and a bunch of others. I’ve been following him for years and is worth the follow.

what exactly is my best?

I can't take anything that's Sabres-associated seriously until I see an actual product on the ice. Not horribly contrasted and damp looking uniforms and a bunch of undisciplined idiots, but a well-dressed and entertaining game and an atmosphere that doesn't drag with paper fans and drunk morons who don't know how to root for a team whether it's losing or not. Obviously the losing has a lot to do with it but I don't like how a miserable on-ice attitude has been allowed to drag on this entire time.

Ted Nolan wouldn't have been such a bad last few years and we still would have finished last. For a guy who loves his "Sabres Alumni", Terry Pegula sure has run through quite a few of them since he's bought the team.

It's no excuse for lazy management this last several years, in any case. The marketing is stale, the presentation is old, the tone is flat and the environment is empty of any kind of emotion. It's all just a ho-hum attitude from the top down, and the fanbase isn't free of this criticism, either. The players live like the populace does in Buffalo.

Criticize Jack and Sam for supposedly being drinkers who stay up until the sun comes up on game days and still show up to work, yeah, how dare they. They aren't Jim-Kellying around town or driving into buildings and literally every single player ever does that when they're young and grinding the schedule.

I do see them go through the motions but I do NOT see them mope. I have seen a few players mope and be invisible leaders in a confused locker-room that's clearly hostile because they don't have a healthy work environment.

It's still a (frank)ing poop-show and until it actually appears as a consistent and entertaining on-ice product, then there's no point in repeating the same things Ad nauseam and taking blog discussion so seriously that it interferes with your everyday life.

I don't think you can speak for everyone when accessing how people felt about ROR and his play there were many who couldn't wait to get him out the door. Slow, unproductive sick of hearing "I have to do better." Along with that 7 mil a year? They couldn't wait to get him out the door.

There is obviously a difference between Risto and ROR but I contend that when Risto goes to another team fans will perform a revisionist history and some regret like they have done with ROR running him out of town. He will also be more of a player and difference-maker than Tyler Myers who still can't complete an outlet pass and if he wasn't tall would be a 5-6 D. One year made that guy.
