i won't i'd package ghost with something to bring in someone like oh i dunno Laine - 2Real
The something else would also have to be a somewhat high cap hit (at least 4.5 aav)
Because I think Laine gets 9 million from someone. And that needs to even out cap wise.
Still have to resign Provorov and Konecny.

you're still off by another $4m if you are trying to get Gardiner and Laine over Ghost and TK. |

Better yet: how does gardiner get 4x4 and Myers get 6×6 or whatever |

Gardnier ain't all that. - Pelle31Forever
In context, he's the 4/5 on that team which is a great spot for him. Their D core is impressive. No elite guy but very solid.
* Hamilton elite? |

I'm just saying if were half as good as people claim he is it wouldn't have taken until almost mid September to find a team. |

Best in the league according to Tanner haha. I agree, but in that depth chart he fits nicely as the 4/5 guy, probably one of the best in the league in that pecking order. |

I agree. I don't think he's trash. He's serviceable but I'm also glad the Flyers didn't go after him. |

Maybe that's why it took awhile for him to sign. Guess he just settled. |

while i do agree coburn was an integral part of our defense and was a dynamo d pairing with Timonen, i think you can argue timonen was more missed and more important, and even further, Pronger going down kinda ruined our entire blue line for years. Pronger is that type of player that can really hide a lot of deficiencies on a blue line, a transcedent player if you will. Coburn really could never even hold a candle to Pronger, but then again not many dmen could. - sjk540
You missed the point. I just compared Coburn to Niskanen and you went to how much we missed Timonen and Pronger. Provorov could potentially be our next Timonen, so cross off needing a number one defenseman from the list. We have one. For three seasons, we’ve needed a new Brayden Coburn to compliment the new Timonen. |

There are questions about his health but he is far more than a serviceable player. He's not the elite #1 defenseman that Tanner thinks he is but he's a solid #3 NHL defenseman |

TLDR; version of Flyersbuzz today...
EVerything is terrible because we didnt trade Ghost and TK for Laine.
Ignoring the fact that trades are two way streets. |

definitely.
especially with amount of money they make it is a different era.
Looking at Dave Shultz' contract 5 years for $350,000, yeah you can see why they felt they needed to play through things.
Now, with millions on the line, its not worth it to the player or the franchise. - MBFlyerfan
For sure, I also do not know if contracts were guaranteed back in the day, but nowadays they are so the players are getting paid either way. And as bad ass as it is to see guys battle through injuries, I do not think it is worth it for the player (might aggravate injury and make it worse) or the team (if said player aggravates injury and misses playoff game for example).
Simmer was a good example of this either the past season or the one before. |

Hes been dealing with back spasms for 2 years now. Fans would turn on him quick in Philly. Prone to frequent brain farts. Hes not going to turn the tides of the division by any means. |

This is possibly?
Do you know how quickly I would make this deal if the Jets would make it? A 6’5” 21 year old kid with three seasons under his belt who has never scored under 30 and has already seen 40 plus goals in his career. |
