I read Wayne Simmonds says he's feeling much better and is glad to be able to work out this off season. Last offseason he had bilateral hernia surgery, torn abductor and hip surgery and couldn't do anything. I think this guy is going to bounce back. Maybe not vintage Simmonds, but he could improve.

We could too. I mean not this exact moment but once Greene's contract is up, Vats becomes a free agent (or traded) and we see Mueller is Mueller and will never improve; Then it would be sweet to have Gardiner at just over $4M.

I'd have to think that his negotiating position wasn't that great and that teams were really hesitant about his defensive ability. But this seems like an underpayment especially with the amount of term.

Our defense has been real bad in the 1st, unfortunately including Smith, too many turnovers. Not many standouts in a good way so far, except for Hughes. You can tell we've only had like 1 practice together before playing tonight lol

Everything will be fine. Smith was good last year and I doubt he got worse in the off-season. A silly exhibition is all this is. Our best "prospects" are a year or 2 in the nhl already and like 20 or under. Its all good.

I'm just stating that its clear we've only had one single morning skate together as a group, and its showing. I dont really care what happens in this tournament, has no affect on the season, and most of these guys wont sniff the NHL for atleast 3-4 years. But its foolish from the org to go play in a tournament like this with just one morning skate as a team, while all of the other teams have been skating together for over a week
