It's getting quite volatile in here. But there is some hockey to be played today and then everyone can go back to hating on our players. I just hope I can watch. I haven't had luck with Reddit in the past, at least not from my firestick, but I will give it a try from my Ipad.

Yes, thank God camp begins in a week. We can all make fun of the fat players, make fun of how Bogo is hurt again, make fun of Scandella for sucking.

It will be on Sabres.com and the sabras Facebook page. But only in the buffalo area. (Which makes no sense. I am guessing the nhl restricts that broadcast)

Meh, I wouldn't be able to watch but 1 game this weekend anyway.

But, assuming it is an NHL rule as you said, it is some of the worst logic used to black it out for out-of-towners like you, me and others here.
There is zero chance I would attend locally, and it isn't being covered by the NHL Package so neither the Sabres nor the NHl would lose money if they showed it without geograhic limitations.

I know there are ways around it like reddit or VPN, but really why is it limited.
Just another dumb, illogical rule.

"Hey let's grow interest in our game by limiting who can see hockey action"
RMFE's

In fact, if they wanted to increase revenue, why not do the exact opposite of what they are actually doing jow...and force 5he locals to pay $10 per game to view it live only.

The NHL is not the only league that does this. All the major sports leagues do.

Sure, I get that.

Doesn't make it right, nor logical, just dumb.

I think you answered your own question. There is no prospective fan of hockey living in Tulsa who is going to spend his friday night watching Shaw Boomhower and the Sabres prospects.

You gotta be pretty hardcore to watch this stuff.

Preseason I agree. I cant believe that in 2019, we cant see every game. Wtf is that shi

I would record it though, playback early next morning .
I'll live with game highlights...or do they limit that too, lol!

Edit: also, why would they make the decision for me? So illogical.

That's on the Sabres and MSG. They choose which games they televise, send a crew to, lease a camera truck, etc.

Last year I found some away feeds online for a couple games. I think 1 or 2 though, there was no feed available. This league, man. Imagine if the NFL didn't televise preseason

If the NHL had TV deals worth $27 billion, it would.

EDIT: I was looking at old numbers. They're currently $34 billion combined (CBS, FOX, NBC and ESPN). It's deal with DirecTV is $12 billion. The NHL's is a combined $7 billion (NBC and Sportsnet).

Give RJ's son an iPhone and have him call the game from the bleachers and stream it to Sabres.com

I dont need production value

I would love to be inside the NHL's Marketing meeting when these issues are discussed and decisioned. I'm sure they look at it like Meh, not worth the energy to change it. I look at it like, why did you put the energy into the decision to black it out in the first place.

More like "The cost to produce the game on television exceeds the revenue we will bring in from viewership". If the NHL teams made money by televising every game, they would do it. The fact is, they don't, even in Buffalo, where almost everybody watches.

For those of you not in the buffalo region who want to try to catch the games this weekend this is a pretty informative article:

https://www.techjunkie.co...e-location-google-chrome/

I've never tried the Reddit thing before so I can't speak to that but it looks like a free trial of Express VPN is a fool proof way to stream the games for out-of-towners like myself. I think I am going to give it a try this evening. Fingers crossed.
