@Dozer: It's who he is. When I was a student, I worked in Notre Dame's athletic department and was part of team hockey helping to keep track of assists. McGuire would occasionally end up in the press box whenever NBCSN would televise a game. He was a douche to anyone who didn't seem important and one time he bragged to my boss that if it wasn't for him, the Pens would have never drafted Jaromir Jagr. Regis was hired four whole days as a scout by the Pens before the Jagr draft. This guy thinks that he's such a prodigy that he single handily swayed an entire organization to draft a guy after four whole days as a rookie scout. Dude's a jackass.

From Marshall: In looking at the performance of specific defensive pairings last year for the Penguins, and filtering by a minimum of 50 min TOI spent together, seven of the 10 worst defensive pairings for the Penguins in 2018/19 included Jack Johnson.

I know it's beating that same horse, but that's how to drag everyone down.

#toxic-masculinity. I feel like it takes a small mind to complain about broadcasters. Maybe they should campaign against guns during intermission instead of talk about the game.

I don’t mind Roenick as much as the rest. At leaSt he’s got some personality. The rest are awful.

Very disappointing about Doug Maclean and kypreos, I thought they were highly entertaining on hockey central at noon. Definitely more an old guard type with toughness, but the stories they told were awesome and very entertaining.
I never liked Pierre as he seemed to go off on random tangents. If he said 30% of what he usually does he’d be significantly better.

I agree. I like hockeycentral at noon too!

I think Matt was asking last blog about the distance between the existing rink in Glendale, AZ and the east Valley. There’s construction on the hwy rn so the drive just got longer. It’s not so much the drive there (45-70 minutes) as it is the drive home which still isn’t terrible but with a 7pm start you get home at like 10, 1030, or 11. You just have such a wealthy, massive population out east starved for entertainment of any type. They would 100% sell out games in the east valley

Roenick at intermission is kinda meh, he’s fine imo. I think where he really shines is when he’s out and about and talking with fans. He’s better than most of making conversation on the fly and his smile seems genuine

He hit and fought in his career. He can’t possibly have a progressive thought in his head.

Why would we want a progressive commentator for a hockey game??

Yep. I completely agree. I don’t care for him with the in game analysis but like you said when he’s with the fans he’s great.

From the last thread...

It used to be the “it” place that people would claim had the best fast food burgers when I was in middle/high school, but at some point in college it switched to in-n-out. I do not get the hype over in-n-out. Animal style is so mediocre.
- Victoro311

In-and-out is so so. I didn't have it until I moved to Vegas and everyone here acts like it's the holy grain of burgers and it's not. I dig their protein style when I'm going healthy.

Fat Burger is wayyyy better. I'll also take Shake Shack and Five Guys over them.

(frank) I miss Fatburger. There was one in Cranberry while I was in high school. It was so god damn good. Those chili burgers were amazing. I need a fat burger in my life.

I've actually never had their chili. Their burgers are already so massive I can't imagine that thing staying intact lol. I pretty much get everything on it including bacon and egg. Their shakes are pretty damn good, too. I also love their steak fries.

Honestly be good having a lot of them gone. I do like the idea posted before of Luongo or Biz coming in, but honestly I think they need to start reeling back the sensationalist talking head nonsense that so permeates everything now. The show is on the ice not in some overly neon flashy studio production so we can listen to the latest drivel ad nauseum.

Very few actually have facts they just blather and throw stupid shyte out there hoping something sticks.

I don't need to hear you talk to players at the bench during warm ups or a lot of the stuff going on that is just all media driven drivel.

Good riddance to the lot of em, still a few more they could get rid of at that.

So you're saying if he goes to another network we should give him a chance to see if he gets better?

@Vic
In n Out has been around way longer than Five Guys. When I was a kid, I always heard about this mythical west coast burger that was somehow superior to any other burger. Five Guys was local to northern va before it exploded into the franchise it is now, well after In n Out had its' mythical status. The 5th location was where I grew up. Never been out West, and never had In n Out, but I can tell from the god damn pics that five guys is superior. I'll take a Hardee's burger over it, let alone shake shack. Never heard of Fat Burger, but it's probably better than In n Out.

Hardee's doesn't belong in the conversation. We have Carl's Jr. out here which is the West Coast version of Hardees. Hardees IMO remains in the regular fast food arena like Burger King and McDonalds.

In-and-out isn't bad. It's pretty good, it's fresh by fast food standards, but it's just not close to the big deal it's made out to be.

Shake Shack is far better than most fast food burgers IMO, although I think their non-burger items are better than their burgers, i.e. cheese fries, chicken sandwiches and shakes. I think they by far have the best shakes.

Five Guys is weird. Their stores aren't consistent. I've had great burgers from them and some I've been to were just terrible.

People also seem to hold Steak & Shake with a similar regard to In-and-out. I think Steak & Shake has terrible shakes and their burgers are mediocre, not to mention their poopty fries.

There are a bunch of very regional burger joints I haven't been to that I hear are amazing, like Whataburger.

Fatburger is the best IMO.

From a Homer perspective, It actually looks like those Jones and Milbury are in pain, when they have to give credit to the Pens in the Playoffs, it annoys the (frank) out of me. I always thought Roenick was pretty fair.
