As the new GM of Edmonton I would like to offer Adam Larsson and Evan Bouchard for Marner. Larsson give you another Right shot defenceman that could pair with Reilly giving you a Reilly/Larsson and Muzzin/Barrie top 4 which would be the best in the conference. Bouchard gives another blue chip defensive prospect for for next year. Marner gives a premium winger that can join McDavid to create the best forward pair in the game, and allow Draisailt and RNH to form a good 2nd line.

Take out Boeser and put in Pettersson.

Marner would be CLB’s best problem to have! And hardly a problem based on it being a league wide issue. It’s only an issue in Toronto because the Leafs are cap strapped, unlike CLB who could offer him the Matthews deal no sweat. and he’d instantly be your best player. If cap had nothing to do with things, I wouldn’t make this deal as a Leaf. Only because cap plays a part. But CLB would be getting the best player in the deal by a mile!

we already have Werenski to resign so yes another problem is not what the cbj needs, second nothing guarantees he will want to stay. You can sugar coat this as much as you want, i'd probably go for trading Zach and Jenner instead of Jones and Andy, for Marner, it was a pretty lopsided idea.
