Yeah. While it is true they removed in on false information and jumped the gun in an effort to mollify a small group of people who don't watch hockey anyway, it didn't bother me enough to give up watching The Flyers, or the Yankees. - MBFlyerfan
Closet fact: Due to family relations to Tino Martinez, I was a Yankees fan from 1996-2001. I am not proud of this. |

Sadly that’s how public relations are these days. Cut bait before additional damage. And with the NHL they have really improved their diversity and inclusion over the last several years, so I’m assuming they thought we can’t risk steering the opposite direction or the league. But I also don’t think they considered the amount of back-fire removing it would cause. |

Do you expect that other teams could also have their young players improve that would somewhat offset Columbus' players improving? Also, the loss of Bob should not be overlooked either. Right now, both the Flyers and CBJ have some unproven quantities in net. - jmatchett383
Think we can agree that all teams in the Metro (maybe all teams in the East) are going into the season with significant question marks.
I just don't think we can write off Columbus at this point. With league-average goaltending, some internal improvement and a bit of injury luck, I think they have a chance to be pretty good.
Losing good players sucks, but it's like how the Flyers scored 30 more goals the season after they traded away Brayden Schenn's 25-goals. Guys will step up with more quality icetime and opportunity to go around. |

Talk about ridiculous. You dont think the team has changed over the course of 2 seasons? Losing thier MVP isnt considered a major loss because they had a good season before he got there? - Baxter27
Why anyone would bring up Duchene as a major loss to the Jackets is nothing short of stupid. The Jackets actually hit a bit of a wall after acquiring Duchene. It wasn’t until the playoffs that the Jackets put it together. |

I wouldn't sleep on the Jackets.
I'm not even sure that they're really lacking talent. Bjorkstrand and Texier have the skill and upside to step into Panarin's minutes. Dubois and Anderson should get a little bit better. They still have two of the best dmen, and a proven goalscorer in Atkinson. It's still conceivable that Wennberg could get on his feet again. And Torts has a track record with underdog teams.
They didn't suddenly become the Ottawa Senators of the Metro or anything. - Tomahawk
I absolutely believe the Jackets are still in the mix |

They will not be a good hockey team, center depth is very concerning, add that to highly questionable goaltending and your team is in trouble pretty quick. |

I watch the Yankees and the Phillies. The Phils were too bad in the 90s to just watch them. |

Well it appears the hurricane missed Palm Beach, out having a beer and thinking the Flyers are due for some luck...

They have the same center depth prior to the Duchene trade. |

Losing a top 5 goalie is really hard to replace, especially when its replaced by a career backup and losing a top 10 winger will be felt all throughout the lineup, every line essentially gets worse along with the powerplay. They were a fringe playoff team with those pieces, what are they without them? |

We are feeling pretty good up here in Jacksonville too. Will get some wind and rain, and if you live on the water expect some flooding, but all in all, we should be fine |

This is off topic but with Djokovic out, who is it going to be? Nadal or Federer? - MJL
I give the edge to Feds just because I think he is better than Nadal on that surface.

I agree with you. If it was on clay!
I hope they do wind up in the finals squaring off. |
