Curious, does anyone know who they took with those picks?

The Hawks won the cup either because of (in part) or despite having made that trade...but either way they won, so I don’t care.

Good point, I kinda liked having the guy around. That’s the bottom line, I tend to think the team did too.

St Louis re-signed Barbashev for 2 years at $1.475 million AAV.

I’m guess Perlini will sign this week, likely Wednesday, a 2 year deal with an AAV of $1.85 million.

For two years, I'd be ok with what Barbashev signed for, but if Perlini wants more than that, I hope he becomes trade bait.

Assuming the Wild will be one of the two teams we need to finish with fewer points than the Hawks, I think Winnipeg could be the other. If they get Laine and Connor signed, and they should, they still have an outstanding forward group but their d-corps took a big hit and I'm not sold their goaltending can make up the difference. Here's hoping.

Yes, and I get a kick out of the projection articles that claim how much better every team in the Central got and proceed to mention all of their additions... but for some reason fail to mention their subtractions

The jets will miss Trouba, no doubt. But Myers, Chairot and Tanev were all over rated and won’t be missed. Guys like Niku, Poolman, Vesalainen and Appleton can all easily replace those departed. I think a lot people forget the Jets were still at times last year the youngest team in the league. They have more players on the up swing than down. Like with many teams their eventual success or lack thereof will be determined by goaltending.

Thanks for summing it up...it's one of the coolest parts of being a fan of the NHL to see what young guys are able to break into the league. I didn't know much about the Jets and we'll see them a lot soon anyways of course like usual ...so should be interesting. I wonder how much other teams are concerned about us right now with the Dach addition. I still don't think it has truly settled in that we basically just got another franchise player for league minimum...and nobody tell me I'm getting ahead of myself! Like Stl Braves said, he's going to be an 18yr old all-star lol

I know it's a holiday weekend here in the US, and it's a slow time for hockey, but this board has been DEAD this weekend. Where is everyone?
