I will say Bachman and Keilly to start for Comets.
- VANTEL

That's my guess too - I'd rather see JK and MD there, resigning Bachman seems dumb IMO, but they do some weird sh*t down in Utica, ex. Bancks and Hamilton

I hated it for what it represented but he absolutely improved the team.

I Wonder who will be in Utica this year? Bachman, Dipietro, MacIntyre and Kielly? Cull will probably say "I don't care who's better, we need Bachman as veteran presence here because I dont like change." And Then Dipietro gets sent to Kalamazoo.
- Brooks_Light

Yeah. You can’t “send” an NHL player to the ECHL. You can ask them to go there, but why would an established guy want to play there. It’s more the young guys who need to establish themselves, or those rehabbing an injury.

Was just reading an article/interview with Bonamassa and he was asked how it feels to be known as the best blues guitarist today and he said 'I wouldn't know I'm not Eric Gales'. lol

You ever listen to Eric Gales? His music is a little blues-generic but man can that guy play...

- LordHumungous

Bonamassa is producing Gales next album, Gales always joins Joe on his Blues Cruise every spring.

It's like you're incapable of giving a straight answer. I know they can't be 'sent" but there's 4 going into training camp and they can't all stay. None of them are "established or NHLers." Maybe you can try to answer this question, minus the condescension - where do the two goalies that don't make the team go?

My guess is Bachman retires shortly after camp and one of the other guys is loaned to another AHL team.

Man, I’m not sure why you are so grumpy today but maybe you should hit the woodshed. No condescension, I was agreeing with you that Bachman likely plays in the AHL. If I had to guess, DiPietro and which ever other guy doesn’t make the team go to Kalamazoo. Though I think one of the guys they signed might be subject to waivers? Could see something like what happened to the Leafs last year.

You must forget the typical Miller softie. Taught Markstrom everything and then some...

Not that he was bad, but he wasn’t 2010 Olympic hero Miller while he was here.

Miller was very solid for us. He was a solid signing for sure

But what was achieved other than solid stats for Miller? To keep the Canucks competitive? To be a veteran leader? To establish a culture of winning and leave a long lasting legacy? A name that would put bums in seats? A contract to bide time until something better came along?

It was a nothing sandwich and still is today. Like it never happened.

That’s not the same as him not playing well. He played well. Should not have bothered woth many of the signings, but again you were saying he played poorly which is just inaccurate.

haha i'm not grumpy - it came across as condescending as you didn't really answer the question, but focused on the fact that goalies couldn't be sent to the ECHL. Anyways, Kielly is waiver exempt, but he could potentially be the strongest "prospect". I assume Dipietro is in the future plans of the franchise so it would seem beneficial to start him in Utica. Macintyre and Bachman are safety nets i wish they'd let go of and instead place trust in the younger guys to take the reigns and deal with the growing pains.

It was either that or let Eddie Lack take the wheel while a very inexperienced Marky sat shotgun. Funny tho, Lacks numbers were actually kinda better than Millers the year they split duties. But he quickly jumped off a cliff once he left.

I thought Lack was overrated by this fanbase back then but was pretty surprised that he fell off that hard, it's rare to see a guy go from being a decent 1B type of goalie to being out of the league so quick. But his recent statement about chronic hip injuries clears that all up. Canucks definitely dodged a bullet there and it's a tough break for him.

Cory Schneider's injuries have derailed his career as well. We all talk about Canuck luck, but those were 2 cases where the Canucks definitely lucked out and sold before the ship sank.

I did? When did I say that?

I asked how he improved the team. Never questioned his abilities. My question still applies... How did the team benefit from the acquisition of Miller?
