Saw them like 12 years ago when I went down to San Francisco to see Rage Against the Machine. Great line up: The Roots, Public Enemy, Cypress Hill, Wu Tang, then RATM đź‘Ť

GnR were notorious for that. Too smashed to perform to their abilities. Too bad because their music was so intense any half assed effort was instantaneously recognizable.

They were. Bloody shame so much talent in that band. Appetite was such a great album all through. I saw them open for Maiden in the late 80's and they were so out of it live they played 5 tracks then AXL jumped into to the crowd to try to beat someone up lol. They are bloody awful live.

Would have loved to have seen the Beastie Boys play live.

Neil is a god. His unplugged album is so so good. I’ll have his Rust discs in my car.

Neil Youngs Live at Massey Hall 1971 is an absolute staple of an album. Raw and invigorating. The guy was a folk guitar genius above Bob Dylan IMO.

Cat Power. As soon as you get past the terrible name, she kills it. She’s all over my playlists.

Have all her stuff...she's great.

Thats Cool
My high school only had KickAxe

lol I had Kick Axe on the stereo tonight .

One of THE most underrated metal/rock bands of that time. They just slightly missed their window. Saw them live when I was a teenager and they killed it. I was hooked. Welcome to the Club was probably their best album. polished and great production. Vices was more raw and intense depending on what you like. Regardless they were so talented. Too badd they weren't bigger than they were.

That's a blasphemous statement

Edit: well, maybe if you're just talking in the folk genre, but Dylan is a much better musician/lyricist on the whole

lol I knew that would cause a statement. I like Dylan and his songwriting prowess is unreal...but never really 'got' the whole Dylan popularity thing. I prefer NY but do have quite a bit of Dylan. On a personal level and considering Neil Youngs body of work/writing with multiple bands I would take NY over Dylan anyway...but that's just me

To each their own I'm the basically the inverse: Like Neil Young, love Dylan (with an asterisk for mainly early pre-accident Dylan).

It is funny to watch old interviews of Dylan and see how much of a Richard he was to the press. Sort of like Petey, just smarter and smugger.. and drugged up The Beatles also toyed with the press a lot too, snide Englishmen

It's not an either or thing for me, i like em both. For the past 20 years or so Dylan has been pretty incoherent so i wouldn't want to see him live.

One reason I haven't gone to see him live is just that. He's not the same person, and has said as much before too.

This guy – The Tallest Man on Earth – if you all haven't heard of him, is my favourite contemporary folk singer/songwriter. Has amazing lyrics, and a Dylan-ness to him (in his first few albums that aren't as 'produced'):

Saw him 12 -15 years ago at The Coliseum. F*cking brutal.
Thankfully, the tickets were free.

One would hope this would happen in VAN this season as well. Byfuglien would be a contributing factor here.

Jeff Marek on FAN590 says the leadership group in Winnipeg rides that team really hard & drives that team really hard, and if you don’t keep up, that leadership group doesn’t have a lot of time for you. There is a feeling around the NHL that Patrik Laine has fallen out of favour.

When he goes straight to the net his style reminds me of MacKinnon . He does have skill too. His finish needs some polish.

A bit surprised at the ELC for Silvos yesterday, I wonder what Canucks have in mind? I start thinking Mike DiPi trade?

Surprisingly one of the positions we have depth at. DCT touched on Markstrom. If there was any way to get another first you'd think it would include a goaltender/+
