He'll probably be one after this deal
I like him too much to have him go there. Same with Cole Caufield - RickJames77
I doubt it. He seems like the rare guy nowadays that would spend his entire career with the same organisation.
Unless he gets traded for some reason. |

Marner is probably the Leafs 3rd best forward.
Dont buy the BS about how a flashy winger who played 82 games with an Elite Center is worth more than Auston Matthews - senstroll
Then include Rielly and Freddy to the other players list. Pushing Marner to 5th. |

He blocked a shot one time. He's worth 12 at least. You ever see McBust or Glassthews block a shot? |

He completely used the Habs. He knew that Carolina would match it with ease. He just didn't want to wait around and go through it all Summer. Like every other RFA seems to be doing.
I don't actually know anything. It's just the feeling I get looking at him and whatnot. I just see him as a lifer in Carolina (or, at least, the Hurricanes organisation. Since Carolina may one day be relocated.). |

Marner will sign before the season starts. He was just shy of being top 10 in the league last season.
And I'm sure he believes he could be a possible Hart candidate this upcoming season and won't want to miss any time in order to do so.
I'm probably crazy, but that's just how I feel |

When asked if he believed Marner and Dubas were close to inking a deal, Friedman noted that what fascinates him “is that I’ve had people tell me they don’t think they’re really that far off on a short-term deal. I’ve had other people telling me the team is really starting to get fed up with the way this is going.”
Such a poopty situation.
I think even once he signs his deal he is not untouchable anymore. - Santo_44
I agree, it's the owners fault for not insisting on arbitration automatically after an entry level deal expires, in the last deal signed with the players. It's an idiotic oversight and must be fixed. It will force players and owner to at least bargain in good faith rather than play the blackmail game.

That was a real bonus heavy contract that could have potentially handcuffed the team financially. He also said he really wanted to be a hab, which of course could’ve been used as leverage, but we don’t really know.
Point being, it’s all speculation in my opinion, which is fine, but I’m not willing to say it is one thing or another. Totally your right to formulate an opinion though |

I'm sure a deal will get done and all, but I honestly don't think they want to deal with Ferris ever again. And I can't say I blame them at all. Negotiating entirely through the media doesn't build any faith or trust. Nor does asking for the biggest over payment in league history.
So I really hope that come Marner's next contract, Ferris isn't his agent anymore.
Of course, in a perfect world, Marner fires the idiot today and is signed within the week. - GreatGigInTheSky
Marner may not be here in 3 years.... |

Listening to Bergevin try to convince himself that Aho wanted to be there, was comical . You could tell that even he knew it wasn't true.
I know it's just an opinion that I think he'll stay with the Hurricanes, though. Didn't mean to state otherwise. |

Disagree, arbitration is useful. Ceci was qualified by Ottawa, there was no arbitration, or he likely would have been released and signed for a lower number. Arbitration is not perfect but you left out some details here.

He might win the gold medal for those value contracts, but it looks like Dubas and team are the leaders in cap gymnastics |
