One episode of Murdoch Mysteries, they said they preferred to be called morons than id-10t error

That would be fine with me too...

My daughter is the director of a special needs center in the US. They specialize in Autistic kids mainly. Big soft spot for those kids.

I can't confirm he had a coke problem.

But the guy was partying like crazy and clearly didn't make hockey his #1 priority. THAT I can say for sure.

And that his family/girlfriend were nuts.

A Habs exec stated on the radio that he had been placed in the league's substance abuse program...twice. I'm 99% certain he said it was booze, though.

I'm well aware of the boner you have for him.

But yeah I hope he proves me wrong and is capable of being a number 1 goalie in the near future.

It wasn't an Habs exec.

It was Mario Tremblay.

I haven't been able to figure out if Max really believes the stupid sh!t he posts or if he just posts it because he's more likely to get the most responses to his posts.

(frank) me

- .HOHO.

I’m no therapist.

But to me he seems to latch onto things that the general population on here would disagree with and just rolls with it for months.

He picks random players to either hate on or love.

You do realize if he traded Sparks and kept Mcbackup the kind of message that it would have sent to future Marlies is a very negative one. That hard word and success will get you no where. Im sure he wanted to keep McBackUp as much as we all did. But at least SEE the reasoning in his decision to go with Sparks. I understand it. Doesnt mean i liked it, and nor should you. But at least see the bigger reasoning behind it Max.
- Burkefection

Nah. That makes too much sense and is obvious to most people.

Zaitsev vs Ceci is not the decision I don't understand.

They could have let him go to arbitration and then walked. I do not see what he has done to earn 4.5, and even if he has a good season, it will only serve to escalate his next contract.

- Aetherial

I think the Ceci contract was designed to get the CAP to where it is. So as to force Marner's moron agent to take a step back to reality.

Leave as much CAP space as Marner is worth, plus a bit more in case they remain stupid for a bit of an over payment.

That Komisarux_rex guy?
- Scabeh

Actually no. His opinion just gets discounted since I know that Habs fans don't agree with him much either.

It was on the Habs thread, so I would not say anything on that thread. There were some real hot takes there though.

ALL fan bases are guilty of some stupid opinions.

Look her up on you tube, the video is not too hard to find.

It is worth watching the video. I think it is called J'en Maire or something like that.

The entire thing is worth watching. She is life-changing.

Interesting quote from HFBoards, not sure how accurate it is:

Marner was sub-40% CF% without Tavares, and 53% CF% with. Tavares literally carried Marner the entire season.

I see it as more evidence to suggest how much of a pile of poop CF, and all similarly derived stats are.

Lots of confusion between causation and correlation and some real stupid conclusions being drawn, not to mention a serious lack of education or qualification floating around the advanced stats proponents.

Until we are tracking the puck, and the players, and their positioning and developing actual models of desired play with and without the puck VS... actual play with and without the puck and a computer is consuming this data and doing the analysis ...

then all of these stats are of very limited value and are inferior to an eye test.

At some point, all of these geniuses will realize how primitive and stupid their current conclusions are. It would be good if they would actually admit that to themselves, but I am pretty sure that day will never come.

Disappointed and annoyed.

It could be age has made me jaded or given me a different perspective, but I just don't get heartbroken over sports. I think the reality is that my life won't change one iota whether or not they win or lose.

Get with the plan, Adam.
Dubas is the best GM in NHL's history, because he:
1/ is young
2/ cares about real important issues (more important than winning a Stanley Cup).
3/ 'understands' how to handle the younger guys
4/ uses innovative approaches
5/ has some kind of magic innate player evaluation intuation that trumps all other GMs in the league
6/ wears great glasses
7/ gives bad apples 2nd chances
8/ is a great negotiator
9/ is a great communicator
10/ goes to festivals

He's driving me nuts. I have never read more idiotic posts. His infatuation with Dubas is downright frightening. You would think after years of being told you're an idiot you would take a look in the mirror and come to some kind of realization that maybe you should start changing the way you think. I dont know if its bad parenting, a rough social upbringing, lack of friends or what not. I am genuinely concerned for people of his thought process.

Like no one is praising Dubas as the next Jesus Christ. No one is also bashing him and saying hes the worst (except Max). He latches on to any 1 little negative sentence said about Dubas like an infant latching onto their mothers tits for milk.

He clearly has a troubling obsession. He should probably take a break from watching hockey, or maybe follow another team if he hates the Leafs organizational decisions this much. It's not healthy and i feel for him, and anyone who has to live with him on a daily basis.

Back to this now. Ok.

Here's a tip on how to get along with others: try some empathy; try to actually listen to what people say. Ask questions. Hardliners and extremists are generally not welcome.
